All-Montgomery County Team Announced

The Conroe Courier announced their annual All-County team on Sunday, December 18.  The All-County team is selected from the thirteen Montgomery County High Schools...New Caney, Caney Creek, Oak Ridge, The Woodlands, College Park, The Woodlands Christian Academy, John Cooper School, Conroe, Willis, Montgomery, Splendora, Magnolia, and Magnolia West.  As usual, the Montgomery Bears were well represented.

Montgomery Defensive Lineman Jessie Hooper (pictured) was named the All-County Defensive MVP for the second consecutive season.

The Bears defensive tackle finished with 13 sacks and 92 tackles on the year and was named The Associated Press Class 4A All-State second team.

“The biggest thing about Jessie is that you knew he was going to have in impact one way or another,” Montgomery coach John Bolfing said. “He was pretty much unblockable for the most part.”

Hooper was an all-state player as a junior as well. He was named first-team all-district in a 17-4A district that features the likes of University of Texas commit and fellow defensive tackle Malcom Brown.

“Jessie’s most valuable attribute is his intensity,” Bolfing said. “His motor is always running. He never takes a playoff.”

The Bears named to the All-County Team include...

First Team All-County Offense

Wide Receiver - Devon Gasaway (Sr.)
Offensive Line -  Braden Meador (Sr.)

First Team All-County Defense

Defensive Line - Parker Kuehn (Sr.)
Linebacker - Henderson Watkins (Sr.)
Defensive Back - Devan Leigh (Sr.)

Second Team All-County Offense
Wide Receiver - Alex Peppe (Sr.)
Offensive Line - Thang Nguyen (Sr.)
Kicker - Will Fox (Jr.)
