Due to inclement weather, we will postpone the start of our season for the all boys until Wednesday, February 22. We do not want to play on the grass fields at Lakeshore or Brawley Middle School and damage the fields.

 

LNU Season starts the week of February 20, 2012

ALL PRACTICES WILL BE 5-6:30PM UNTIL DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ON MARCH 11. AT THAT POINT, WE WILL MOVE PRACTICES LATER TO ALLOW COACHES AND PLAYERS MORE TIME TO GET TO THE FIELD. THESE ARE STANDARD TIMES SET FOR ALL LNU TEAMS. THE HEAD COACHES MIGHT ADJUST TIMES AND LOCATIONS AS NEEDED. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE HEAD COACH FIRST.

The Middle School (MS) boys will be selected by the head coach to participate on a middle school team in addition to the 7-8th grade team. Selections will be made after the first week of practices to evaluate player skills.

 

Congratulations to Jake Sawicki on being selected for the NC Middle School National Lacrosse Team. Jake will join his 24 teammates for a National tournament in Maryland at the end of June.

Our spring season starts on February 20th and will be a little different this year. We have decided to join the Carolina Lacrosse Association. The CLA has adopted rules that utilize grade based teams and promote skill development.

These teams will typically practice twice a week and play games on Saturdays.

 

Grade based teams will be;

1st & 2nd grade boys

3rd & 4th grade boys

5th & 6th grade boys

7th & 8th grade boys

 

2nd - 5th grade girls

6th - 8th grade girls

We will also have Select teams playing games on Sundays during the spring season for the players with elevated skills and those games will be standard competitive games. The Select teams follow age based rules outlined by US Lacrosse. Select Summer season officially starts with tournaments in May.

New age guidelines for 2012 from US Lacrosse! Rules apply to our Summer, Fall and Winter teams from 1/1/2012 to 12/31/2012

 

The "U" for each age group stands for "Under". 

U-9 must be born on or after 9/1/2002

U-11 must be born on or after 9/1/2000

U-13 must be born on or after 9/1/1998

U-15 must be born on or after 9/1/1996

U-19 must be born on or after 9/1/1992

 

The ESPNU Warrior Classic, a men’s college lacrosse doubleheader, has a new home at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., home of Major League Lacrosse’s Charlotte Hounds. The third annual event will be played Saturday, April 14, and will feature Rutgers vs. No. 7 Syracuse in the first game at 11 a.m. ET, followed by No. 11 Hofstra vs. No. 6 North Carolina at 1:30 p.m. Both games will be televised on ESPNU.

The U-15 Select team had a successful tournament at the Dick's National Championship in Tampa, Florida. We played teams from Ontario, Alabama, Georgia and Florida going 3/2 for the weekend. FCA won the division.
