Gameday 4 -- Tuesday, March 27
Big games on tap for both JV and Varsity sides from Amador and Calaveras. Both teams in both divisions come into these games tied on points and with identical Mother Lode League won-loss-tie records, but both the Amador sides are officially in first place based on goal differential. An added bit of intrigue this week centers on the two JV teams, as neither Amador nor Calaveras has had a single goal scored upon them in league play thus far. Will that change on Gameday 4? Will there be a shift at the top of either division, or will the Thundering Herd increase their lead at the top of the heap? If you're anywhere near Amador High School on Tuesday evening, you might want to stop by and be a spectator at either or both of these two big games. You definitely will see some first-rate high school girls soccer!

> Amador and Bret Harte JV and Varsity teams have already played 12 games after moving their April 26 tilt to April 20. The other teams will catch up to the Buffaloes and Bullfrogs on Gameday 13, after which all teams will have two games remaining in the MLL

Argonaut 0-5 Bret Harte -- Five goals from five different Bullfrogs
Varsity

Summerville 1-3 Calaveras -- Redskins maintain second spot with the win
Argonaut 1-2 Bret Harte -- Bullfrogs still in the mix for a playoff spot
After Gameday 12, the Amador JV and varsity teams were both guaranteed of finishing as no less than co-champions. In both cases, the team that Amador would share the league crown with would be Calaveras, who are the defending champions in both JV and varsity. No other team can catch either of the Amador sides except Calaveras, which means a stellar showdown is set in both the JV and varsity games on Tuesday, May 1, when the teams play one another at Amador in the penultimate games of the season. Amador can win the league championship outright in JV and varsity if they were to draw or win those games next Tuesday. The goals for / goals against, head to head advantage, etc., are used only in varsity to determine the seeding of the playoffs should there be co-champions.

Bret Harte 0-1 Summerville
Amador earns the JV and varsity league championships after both teams win today. Both teams entered tonight's contests guaranteed of at least a co-championship with Calaveras, whose Redskins won both titles last year. But the wins for the Thundering Herds eliminated all that, and instead both Amador teams won a championship of their very own.
Summerville's win over Bret Harte eliminated the Bullfrogs from playoff contention and kept the Bears in the race with the Calaveras Redskins to determine second and third place in the league. The final league games on May 3 will determine the order of finish, and that will in turn determine placement in the section playoffs bracket. Will the defending league champion Redskins -- also runners-up in last year's section championship -- stay in second place or will the Bears bump them back to third and take over second themselves?
Stay tuned ...

The new Yellow Card accumulation rule is as follows:
Each team must report after every game to let the league know if there were any cards given, and if so, what color and to whom they were given. The report must be emailed to richroz70@att.net after each game.
An accumulation of 3 yellow cards for any one player during the course of the season equals a one-game suspension.
An accumulation of 6 yellow cards for any one player during the course of the season equals a two-game suspension.
If that same player gets a 7th, 8th or 9th yellow during the season, a game suspension is added for each yellow.
If on the last game of the season a player is given a suspension, the player must sit out the first game of playoffs but will only sit out one game. A player can only have a one-game suspension during playoffs.
