1/1/12:  Firebirds Squirt Major wins 2011 Coyote Cup PeeWee B Championship Banner

The Firebirds Squirt Major competed this past weekend in the Coyotes Cup Holiday Hockey Festival in the Phoenix Valley. The boys played in the PeeWee B division and won the championship game on New Year’s Day defeating the Channel Island Riptide from California 4-2. Over the weekend they also defeated the Arizona Hockey Union Black Knights, CAHA Selects and Mission White. The boys played with heart, passion and as one unified team. We are so proud of them and their great accomplishment.

Soles4Souls-

The DYHA Phoenix Firebirds U10AAA and U12AAA are collecting as many pairs of used and new shoes to donate to an amazing program called Soles4Souls.   In December we will be driving to the drop off facility in California to deliver all of the shoes.

Soles4Souls can save these shoes from early death by cleaning them and shipping them to needy people around the world, who will treasure the gift for years to come.

Soles4Souls distributes shoes:

- in over 127 different countries

- and 55% of shoes are distributed in United States

Thanks to our fellow hockey families for supporting these kids in learning a good lesson in philanthropy.

Philosophy for Squirt Major Program

Continuing on with its winning tradition and development of the top amateur players in the state of Arizona, DYHA continues to operate The Phoenix Firebirds Tier Hockey Program with its original and proven vision.

The Firebirds are committed to catering to the development, fulfillment and enjoyment of children competing as amateur hockey players at the highest level.

The Firebirds are proud of their high standards and player expectations to:

Provide an elite level AAA hockey development program for players to develop their skills and pursue their hockey dreams.

Maintain emphasis on development for all players and measure success in terms of improvement and not just winning. This includes skill development, tactical comprehension and improved physical performance and athleticism while maintaining an acceptable educational level.

Provide a cultural education whereby Firebird players learn hard work, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
