Midget Selects take gold at OBA tourney

Matt Cook pitched a five hitter with three strikeouts and Cam Goddard went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Windsor Selects midget team in their 5-1 victory over Toronto in the final game Sunday at the OBA AAA championship at Mic Mac Park. The top hitters in six games were Justin Cook (.471) and Larry Balkwill (.421).
The Midget Selects finish their season with a 53-10 record.

Canada Ends Olympics with Extra-Inning Loss to Taipei
There would be no story book ending for the Canadian Olympic Team, despite their best efforts. Canada came back to force extra-innings, but they could not hold off Chinese Taipei as the Canadians would suffer yet another one-run loss in their final preliminary game at the 2008 Olympic Summer Games by a score of 6-5 in 12 innings.
