Raymond has been involved with the baseball program at Ripley Fligh School since 1974. He has been the head coach of the Vikings since 1975. During that time, his teams have compiled a record of 571 victories. His teams have captured 19 sectional tournament championships and have made eight Class AAA State Tournament appearances. He led Ripley to the Class AAd State Championship in 1997 and again in 3004. He was twice selected as the West Virginia High School Baseball Coach of the Year and has coached in eight West Virginia Righ School Baseball All-Star games. He has coached several all-state players as well as several players who have gone on to play on the collegiate and professional levels. He is a graduate of Ripley High School and Glenville State College, where he established several place kicking records with the Pioneer football team. He serves on the faculty at Ripley High School as a driver's education instructor.
