⚾️ABOUT US

We were the HAMPTON ROADS VA ASTROS but we've changed our team name to… SOUTHSIDE WASHERS THE BASEBALL TEAM. The 2019 season was our first season of rebuilding and we're now up to par for any competitor!

 

 

⚾️PREVIOUS SEASON

We’re the runner ups from last season and ready to take it all this year. We are no longer recruiting. ⚾️Alex Mauricio

Alex Mauricio is a Norfolk State University (NSU) Alumni and now a pitcher with the New York Yankees organization. He has overcame a few setbacks in his baseball career. While doing so, Alex found his way back to the Hampton Roads area and continued playing the game he loved. A few of his NSU teammates told him about the Hampton Roads Astros (now currently named Southside Washers). After that, he joined the team, hit the ground running by getting back on the mound and dealing like he never missed a beat. He played with the Hampton Roads Astros for the entire 2021 season and lead the Astros to an amazing playoff run by winning 4 playoff games in a row. Alex lead the Astros to our first championship game. Even though we fell short of a title, it was still an amazing season. He worked extremely hard and dedicated himself to the game which lead him to get reinstated into the Yankees organization for another shot at his dream. Alex used this BASEBALL757 league and the Hampton Roads Astros to develop his craft back. We appreciate everything he did for the team and wish the best for his career❕
