RCHL League Fees- Third Payment

The third league fee payment is due on November 15th (5 days) and all teams applicable must be at a maximum of $2338.75 + GST balance as of their first game on or after November 15th. We have been very accommodating and patient at this point to some teams but all fees will have to be paid in full as mentioned or possible lockout to teams will occur, so please sort this out with your team ASAP.

December Schedule

With the holiday season approximately 6 weeks away we want to be sure that all teams are aware of our schedule and there will be no RCHL games on the following days;

  • December 24th – 26th
  • December 31st & January 1st

The regular season will commence as with normal game times till December 23rd as well December 27th – 30th, then re-start on January 2nd.

PIM Initiative Rule- 5.23(A) & (B)

Teams are approximately 2-4 games to their 12 game mark in the regular season, but I want to remind everyone so you can share with all of your players especially the high PIM players on your team that all teams are aware and understanding of the PIM Initiative rule for both players and teams. There are both players and teams that are exceeding this rule and as per the rule at the 12 game mark management will be emailing those in violation with a warning and at the 20 game mark if not below the set standards then removal from the RCHL will take place as per the set ASHL rule.

Players- must average below 4 PIM per game

Teams- must average below 12 PIM per game (10 minute misconducts do not count for team PIMs)

Roster Names

Again please check your roster online to make sure it is correct with the spelling of your players’ names as well if a player has multiple names on the roster so that we can merge them all. We need to correct these so that your team does not have their roster numbers incorrect thus costing you possible extra player fees as well if a player needs to use our insurance coverage he/she will not come into issues during the claim.

RCHL Online Video Streaming

Note that the RCHL has used the streaming to aid in discipline to players when needed as some infractions have been over-turned as well some actions have been turned into suspensions + fines. Team reps are most welcome to contact the league manager if a penalty call (not minors) was missed during a game and we will review on video- be sure you include the specific time on the video.

RCHL Holiday Cup 2020 Tournament

Possibility of this tourney being rescheduled to late April 2021.

Zamboni Floods

A reminder that teams are not to throw pucks on the ice as well stand on the ice during a flood before their game. Be sure you wait till the Zamboni door is fully closed before doing either as sometimes the ice needs to freeze which is why the operator waits as well for safety precautions. If not adhered to a 2 minute penalty will be assessed and this was done recently. Also we noticed as of late that some team’s players are taking extra long to vacate the ice after their game which we ask that they hurry as our operators only have 10 minutes to flood the ice and they must start immediately after the game ends. Unlike our youth programs/games they have to come on during the handshake in order to keep on time especially when an OT, injury, etc…sets the game back a bit.

Penalty Free Games

140 as of today- well done!!

Players - want to reduce your player fees? Join the Fundscrip program

We all have regular monthly purchases, from gas to groceries to clothes.  These purchases may range from $100 a month to $1,000 or more.  What if you could earn some $$$ on these purchases?

The hockey team started using a company called Fundscrip a couple of years ago to do just that.  Fundscrip is able to get 'gift' cards from a variety of companies at a discounted rate, and pass along those savings to us.

How does the program work?  Basically you are modifying your approach on your monthly spending.  Instead of using cash/debit/credit, you are using 'gift' cards to make your purchase.  For every purchase, Fundscrip issues a payment to the hockey team for approx 3% of your spending (rates are different per card).  This means if you buy a $100 'gift' card, you get back $3.  The hockey team collects these rebates on your behalf and applies them to your next season's players fees (for example: if you buy $2,000 of 'gift' cards in the year and earn $60, the $60 is taken off your team fee, so you only owe $615 for the year ... based on a $675 fee).

So, if you know you spend $500 every month on gas and groceries, you would buy $500 in 'gift' cards.  Then when you go to a gas station or grocery store, you would use these cards.  If you spend $500 on 'gift' cards, you get the full $500 applied to the 'gift' cards (i.e. you get to buy the amount you paid for, no fees).

Orders are placed every month, so you do not have to make a huge purchase at one time to get you thru to the next order date.  For additional questions, please see http://www.fundscrip.com/how-it-works

If you would like to place an order, here is an order form: Fundscrip_Order_Form.pdf

Upcoming Order Dates (order and payment must be provided by 12:00PM on listed dates, or earlier):

     * 9-December-2019

Orders will arrive by Purolator on the Friday following the order date.  The package will be picked up Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, after which you will be notified that the cards are ready for pick-up.
