When filling out a check. Please put your sons name and what its for in the bottom left of the check. Leaving blank is tough to distinguish who the kid is sometimes if the parents last names are different.

 

Parent meeting summary

Uniforms

• Fitting will be done in January (arrives 4-6 weeks following orders) No uniform will be ordered this year without the player paid in full. If you have made prior arrangements then there will be exceptions.
• Teams playing in winter league will need to buy a 3^rd jersey in late September ($30 extra)
• Uniforms this year will be the same throughout the organization. Each kid will receive 2 hats, 2 pants, 2 jerseys, helmet, bag, belt. (extra pants available)

Practice schedule

• Practices will begin officially in October for some of the teams. These are optional practices, some teams might get together in September pending on participation
• Regular practice schedules for January – july we will have out to the parents near the end of September time frame for the winter, Summer practices will be put out in early april.
• Shamrock teams will practice at a few different locations. Virtual baseball, Oakland yard, Waterford community church and lessons outside of the organization if possible.

Fundraising

• As stated before fundraising is not a mandatory thing for the parents but encouraged
• Barrel of cheer raffle tickets will be available by the end of august. Tickets will be sold for 3-4 weeks with the drawing September 22nd.
• The money raised from the barrel of cheer will go towards your player fees
• Drawing September 22^nd. Tickets due to your coach before September 17^th.
• In order to participate in the barrel of cheer you must bring a bottle of alcohol to put into the wheel barrel. Your coach can collect and then I will collect from them.
• We will have a cornhole tournament this year. Which will take place October 19^th in the evening. The cost will be $50 a team. $25 will go towards the player fees. The remaining will cover food and Oakland yard dome time to rent.
• Cornhole we will be able to register on Oakland yard website. (not yet available.)
• Other fundraisers such as super bowl squares will be done individually by teams

   

Camps

• Arm strength care camp will begin Septmeber 8th^t. It will run for 8 weeks and the cost will be $240 for all 8 sessions. You must pay for the full 8 weeks in order to participate. If you do miss a date that wont be a problem. The cost of this camp is 50% less than other locations. The camp is run by current minor leaguer DeShorn Lake. He has a proven record of increasing players velocities by 5-8mph.
• Must Register on Shamrock website by September 2^nd to attend.
• Money for camp is due by September 3^rd to attend. ($240 made out to motor city shamrocks, We will then make one check for deshorn)
• Dates – September 8, 22,29, October 6,13,20,27, November 3.
• Time slots will vary but as of right now we are reserved for 10-2
• Location – Rotary park
• Strength and conditioning we will be working with Greg Jones. We are currently working on a schedule that best works for him. Greg is a former all American linebacker for Michigan state. He was drafted into the pros and will be teaching our kids agility and speed training.

 

Spirit wear

• Spirit wear will be up on our website with a link. This will be a generic link and will tend to be a bit more expensive. We will bring in our own clothing to try and cut cost for all parents.
• If you have special requests I will do my best in adding it to the list of items
• Spirit wear most likely will be shipped direct if ordered from squadlocker.
• If ordered at spirit day we will have everyone pickup at virtual baseball on a scheduled day.
• I will have a flyer each month of different items. I will have a group order each time an order is placed.

Extras

• Hats – Will be ordered during the monthly spirit wear order with DO apparel

Payment schedule

• In order to keep your spot on the team you will need to submit your deposit ($350 asap)

• Please view our website for payment schedule. The second payment can be held if you are doing the barrel of cheer.

Tournaments and league

• Tournaments will be bought near the end of January and schedules will begin to come out then
• League schedule for outdoors will be set in april
• Winter league schedules are spotty and come out in October
• Teams playing in winter league will need to pay for this separately

Private lessons

• If you are interested in private lessons please discuss with me regarding our instructors.
• I will put the trainers contact information on the website.

Conduct

• Player/Parent/Coach – Conduct that is not appropriate for the shamrock organization or that effects the atmosphere that surrounds the shamrocks is effected we will ask the individual to not attend shamrock events.
• Players are to not stay in coaches bedrooms during destination tournaments.
