Blaze have a strong showing in tough 16U tourney with a 3-3-1 record.  The Blaze kicked off the tournament against a tough 15U Smithville Sting team, dropping a 8-3 decision.  The Blaze were helped in the circle by McKenzie and Courtney against the Sting, but could not equal their offensive production.  Overall the Blaze record in pool was 2-1-1, which provided a #2 seed for bracket play.

Bracket Play Results:

The Blaze overcame a lackluster offense and scrambled for 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to secure the win.  Win a 1st round win the Blaze earned a shot against a tough Team Power 97, which the Blaze lost 3-2 in metros.  The Blaze were not equal to the task in the rematch, dropping to the losers bracket with a 8-0 loss.  In what resulted in an elimination game the Blaze lost to a tough 16U Columbia Lightening team 7-4.

Overall the Blaze were pleased with a good weekend against very tough competition.  Thanks to McKenzie and Courtney for helping out in the circle in Hailey and Molly's absence due to injury.
