The Peppers ended the season on a high note by winning the USSSA Midwest Nationals-Championship for the 2nd time in 3years. Ending the weekend with a championship clincing walk-off win vs. the Top Gun-Angels capped off a 7-1-1 weekend to the team and graduating Seniors.

 

Championship Game: Peppers 2 vs. TGA 1

 

The Peppers seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Top Gun Academy-Angels. The game was tied at one with Peppers batting in the bottom of the seventh when Izzy Erickson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Erickson struck out four, while Top Gun Academy-Angels pitchers sat down four.

 

Top Gun Academy-Angels got on the board in the second inning. A sacrifice bunt by Katelyn Kiser scored one run for Top Gun Academy-Angels.

 

In the bottom of the second inning, KC Peppers-Wallace Peppers 18U tied things up at one.Logan was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

Erickson got the win for KC Peppers-Wallace Peppers 18U. She lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out four and walking one.

 

Kelcie Kippes was in the circle for Top Gun Academy-Angels. She surrendered one run on two hits over one and one-third innings, walking zero. Paige Petefish threw five and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

The Peppers collected seven hits on the day. Gentry Shepard and Erickson all managed multiple hits for KC Peppers-Wallace Peppers 18UErickson and Shepard all had two hits to lead The Peppers.

 

Florez Shuts Out Smithville Sting Select in Semi-Final Win 8-0

 

Lauren Florez threw a gem on Saturday for the Peppers, allowing zero runs and besting Smithville Sting by a score of 8-0.

 

Florez was the winning pitcher for the Peppers. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero.

 

The Peppers tallied 14 hits. Lauren JohnsonIzzy EricksonJustice RodriguezFlorezKylie Horsch, and Aubrie McRoberts each managed multiple hits for the PeppersErickson and Johnson each collected three hits to lead the Peppers.
