X5-2021 Dominates YBOA Georgia SuperRegional in Dalton, GA

(March 1, 2014) Xclusive X5-2021 took to the hardwood last weekend and played in the YBOA Georgia SuperRegional tournament in Dalton, GA.  They were on a mission to quickly establish themselves as the top 11u team in the state of Georgia and to no one’s surprise, when the smoke cleared X5 had torched the competition, scoring nearly 50 ppg and winning by an average of 27 ppg.  X5 not only brought home first place hardware, but they also won free entry into the YBOA National Championship later this summer!

Xclusive made quick work of RYBBA (Rockdale Basketball Club) and Team F.O.E. in pool play winning 49-18 and 44-8 respectively.  In bracket play Xclusive faced the Choice Management Kings in the semi-final.  The Kings led 18-15 at halftime and their fan base was in a frenzy thinking that that might defeat the “X”.  But X5 “turnt it up” after halftime and outscored the Kings 30-6.  Final score 45-24.  Rumor has it that the King’s fans are still chanting and scratching their heads trying to figure out what happened.

In the Finals X5 faced an Atlanta Elite team that featured a couple of former Xclusive ballers.  ATL Elite was ranked #3

in the state in the Jr. Hoopseen Preseason poll and thought they might get revenge from last season’s beating in the YBOA State Championship game by X4-2021.  It took about 2 minutes for ATL Elite to realize that it was gonna be a long, unhappy ride home!  X5 came out red hot, raining down three pointers like it was a monsoon and playing defense tighter than a pair of Nikki Manaj jeans!  When it was over, Xclusive had put a major beat down on the ATL Elite squad winning 57-38 and once again showing that if you ain’t with us, “X gonna give it to ya”!

Kudos to all the X5 ballers!  Madison “Brown Mamba” Durr led the team in scoring at 12 ppg, but got lots of help from his friends including big man Julian “Big” Nixon (9ppg), and swingmen KJ “K-Boogie” Doucet (6.8ppg) and Holden “Cash Money” Staes (6.5ppg).   Nixon completely dominated the board (10rpg)s, but Jalen “The Beast” Royals was big on the glass too (5.5rpg).  Kyle “Captain Swag" Duncan led the team in pickpockets and dimes (2.8spg, 2.2apg) with Nixon leading the team in flyswats (1.8 bpg) along with Alexander “the Big Fundamental” Zwerner (0.8bpg).  Newcomer Saiku “Hustleman” White played defense like the Tasmanian devil, while Jamisen “Moneyball” Winters kicked started the tournament by leading the team in scoring (12pts) in one of the early pool play games.  Rookies Jordan Wicker and Bashaar Hamid made their marks with big hustle and grit intangibles!   As always, it was a team effort!

Next stop is the Battle for Magic City in Birmingham, AL where X5 is poised to face three of the toughest teams in the nation (Texas Pipeline (Dallas), WACG All-Stars (Nashville) and Memphis Wildcats (TN), the #7 ranked team in the nation!  But ain’t nobody scared!  We got our hard hats ready!  Check back on Monday to see how we did!  Click the link below for video action from this weekend's game.

X5 Dominates 2014 ATTP Christmas Tournament

The X5 (pre-season) squad picked up where they left off this summer, took their talents to Marietta and dominated the All Tournament Players Park Holiday tournament, winning first place and taking home their first piece of hardware of the season!

X5 played up into the 6th grade division to "test themselves" and passed with flying colors as they cruised through pool play - spanking the competition  by an average margin of 30ppg.

When it came time for bracket play it was more of the same, with X5 spanking the East Cobb Shockers in the semi-finals and the East Cobb Playmakers in the championship game.

Leveraging a blend of 8 seasoned veterans and 4 talented new-comers, X5 is looking as good as ever!  The X5 preseason team begins play in the city of Atlanta rec league on Saturday January 4th in preparation for the upcoming AAU season.  If their play in the ATTP tournament is any indication, the future looks really bright for the Georgia Xclusive organization this season!

Xclusive X4G finishes 2013 AAU season ranked in top 20 of AAU D1 Power Rankings

Georgia Xclusive X4G may not have earned the 2013 AAU National Championship in 2013, but they certainly earned the respsect of the Amatuer Athletic Union - earning a spot in the top 20 of the official 2013 AAU Power rankings.  Only one other Georgia team - the Atlanta Playmakers, (who Xclusive handled easily in the 2013 Georgia AAU state tournament),  finished in the power ranking top 25 this season.

Xclusive X4G (who officially became X5G on September 1st), has already begun retooling and is posied to retain their AAU and YBOA state titles and make another run at theAAU  National Championship in 2014, so be on the lookout!

In the 4th/5th grade game, Madison Durr, KJ Doucet, and Bruce Thornton were also voted MVPs for their respective all-star teams.  Amazingly, Bruce Thornton was again selected the overall game MVP.

Congratulations to all the Xclusive players selected to participate in the all-star games including Khirus Doucet, Jalen Lee, Bryce Thornton, Seryl Slater, and Christian.  Never let’em forget that when you play against Georgia Xclusive - “X gonna give it to ya”!

Xclusive X4G heads to Lexington, KY to compete for AAU National Championship

(July 16, 2013) The nationally ranked & reknowned Georgia Xclusive X4G basketball team headed to Lexington Kentucky on Monday to begin their quest for an AAU National Championship.

X4G started out red hot, going 3-0 in pool play - defeating the Ohio and North Carolina AAU state champs (Cincinnati Royals and Carolina Basketball Club) and trouncing “Team Dream” from Los Angeles California.  X4G’s stellar pool play earned them a first round bye in the championship bracket and a slot in the sweet sixteen.

X4G’s first championship bracket game was against the street-tough New York Gauchos.  Xclusive fell behind big early, but fought back to take the lead early in the 2nd quarter.  The game was nip and tuck throughout and while X4G gave it all they had, they fell short in the end, losing 41-35 and ending their bid for the National Championship.

X4G’s final game was against the Baltimore Stars (#3 ranked team in the nation).  X4G gave the Stars all they could handle, tying the game in the final seconds of regulation and just missing a last second shot that would have won it at the buzzer.  The game went into overtime where the Stars had a little more gas in the tank and nipped X4G 37-31.

The final AAU 10u rankings haven’t been released yet, but Xclusive is guaranteed to be ranked in the top 20 in the nation!  While X4G did not succeed in their quest for a national title this year, the team is undeterred, ready to retool, and set to try again in 2014!

X4G ... still the #1 10u travel basketball team in Georgia!

(May 20, 2013)  This past weekend the Xclusive X4G team won the coveted YBOA state championship and solidified itself as the #1 ranked 10u travel basketball team in the state of Georgia!  It was the third consecutive YBOA state championship for the X4G team who has also wonthe last three AAU state championship titles.  X4G has defeated twenty seven different 10u teams this season, losing to only one (see list below) … leaving no doubt that they sit alone atop Georgia’s AAU/YBOA travel basketball mountain!

In the championship X4G would play #2 seeded Atlanta Elite.  The A-Elite boys though new to the travel basketball scene, have been impressive – making it to the championship game in three YBOA tourneys and winning two of them this year.  This was the first meeting between the two squads and Atlanta Elite, (fresh off a 45-7 thrashing of the #4 seeded Atlanta Hoyas), was feeling confident about their chances.  One could even say that they were feeling downright “froggy”!

A-Elite squad “jumped” out to an early 5-0 and 10-5 lead, but it didn’t last long as Madison Durr (17 points), Jalen Jackson (11 points) and KJ Doucet (6 points) began raining down 3s like a monsoon …  Xclusive, knowing that the game was in hand, took their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter and let A-Elite think they were making a comeback, but in the final minute X4G pulled the Lilly pad out from under the A-Elite squad, dashing any hope they had of winning the YBOA state title.

The X4G regular season is over and couldn’t have been more successful.  The team has registered a 36-2 record against 10u opponents this season, with the only two losses coming to the nationally ranked YBR Elite (ranked #10).  Overall, X4G is 48-5 this season, having made it to the championship game in all 11 tournaments in which they’ve played, winning 9 of them.

See below for a list of teams that X4G has defeated this travel basketball season …

Xclusive X4G takes top prize at Heatcheck Invitational Tournament

(May 5, 2013) X4G was tested by SC Elite (South Carolina AAU State Champions) in the Heatcheck Invitational tournament today and as usual, passed with flying colors!  X4G squeezed out a 28-27 victory in a thrilling nail-biter and won yet another tournament championship!

The contest featured intense play by both teams as the officials swallowed their whistles and let the boys decide the game on the court.  (X4G only went to the charity stripe one time in the entire game).  Things were close throughout. X4G took a 13-11 edge into halftime, but the lead changed numerous times in the second half as both teams scraped and clawed for every basket.  SC Elite had chances to take the lead late in the game, but the X4G pressure got to them as SC Elite missed clutch shots and committed costly turnovers in the final minute.  SC Elite had one last chance with 6 seconds left, but a steal by Madison Durr sealed their fate and X4G's 8th tournament championship this travel basketball season.

Add another trophy to the case!  Next stop is the YBOA State Championship tournament May 17-19th! Yeyyeyyy!!!

Xclusive X4G Wins YBOA Gwinnett Shootout Tourney

(April 30th, 2013)  It may have been 3 weeks since they last played, but you sure couldn’t tell as this past weekend Georgia Xclusive’s X4G shook off the rust and roared their way to yet another tournament championship – this time at the YBOA Gwinnett County Shootout!

X4G took their undefeated pool play record to bracket play and after a first round bye, faced off against the Georgia Dream in the semi-finals.  It turned out to be a real “nightmare” for the Dream squad as Madison Durr rained down 3 pointers like El Nino (19 points) and Justin Bullock cut up the Dream’s defense (11 points) like he was a master chef!  Kyle Duncan controlled the paint like Vincent Van Gogh (9 rebounds), but got lots of help as Bullock, Stone McKnight, and Damon Stoudamire each chipped in with 4 boards a piece.  Duncan and newcomer Jaylen Jackson picked the Dream players pockets so many times (8 and 6 steals respectively) that the Dream’s coach almost called the police!   Jalen Royals dished out assists (4) like the State Farm claims adjuster, while Oscar Seman and Bullock tried to start a block party, punching the Dream’s shots several times during the game.  When the Dream team woke up they understood what every other 4th grade team in Atlanta has learned this season … “X gonna give it to ya”  Final score – 54-33!

In the championship game Xclusive faced off against the Champion’s Chance squad from Northeast Gwinnett.  X4G jumped on C-Chance out of the gate and took a quick 12 point lead, but the feisty C-Chance boys went on their own run and narrowed the lead to just 2 points midway through the first half.  This theme continued throughout the game as X4G would go on a big run and the C-Chance squad would find a way to close the gap.  The score was tied 25-25 at halftime. Xclusive picked it up in the second half and led by 4 points with less than a minute left in the game, but the C-Chance squad came right back and hit a big 3 pointer to narrow the gap to just 1 point with under 20 seconds remaining.  Madison Durr was fouled and went to the line with only 12 seconds left.  With the game on the line the “Brown Mamba” hit two big free throws to put X4G up 3 points.  After a missed C-Chance shot, Kenneth Doucet secured the rebound, was fouled and hit another big free throw with 5 seconds left to seal the deal.  Final score = 55-51 … and another piece of 1st place hardware for X4G!  Click here to watch the action ...

In the championship game Durr scored a game high 24 points, going 8-11 from the line.   Kenneth Doucet, Duncan and Bullock also chipped in on the scoring 9, 8, and 8 points respectively.   Durr and Royals led the team in steals (5 and 3 respectively) and assists (3 each).  Royals also led the team in rebounding (7) while getting some help from is teammate Kenneth Doucet (5).  Bullock continued his assault on opponent’s shots registering 2 more monster blocks in the game.  Jay Joshi and Tyler Williams didn’t rack up big stats, but their hustle and defense was invaluable!  All in all, it was a team effort!!

Xclusive X3 and X5 win gold @ GIT Hoops Shooutout #4

Xclusive X3 notches 2nd place in Sports Authority ClassicXclusive X3 notches 2nd place in Sports Authority ClassicXclusive X3 and X5 win gold @ GIT Hoops Shooutout #4Xclusive X3 and X5 win gold @ GIT Hoops Shoouto

(April 23, 2013)  It was another great weekend for the Georgia Xclusive basketball family.  Xclusive visited the GIT Hoops Shootout (hosted by Respect game) and took the place over ... and there was nothing anyone could do about it!

Both X3G and X5G had the Respect Game teams on their schedule to start and both RGs were served up on a platter!  XG3 came out strong and never let up with every player contributing to the stat sheets.  X5G toyed with RG4, giving them hope through half time, but stepped it up and slapped them down in the end.

Frankly it was a long day for any team that faced the "X" on Saturday.  X3G beat its second opponent so badly that they forfeited their spot in the championship so they wouldn't have to face X3 again.  It was much the same for XG5 who put on a clinic in their 2nd game and made plays worthy of ESPN's "Top 10" in the Championship.

Once again, Xclusive left no doubt who is at the top of the travel basketball circuit in Atlanta, GA.  Congrats to all the boys for another job well done!

Xclusive X4G Wins 2013 AAU State Championship

(April 7, 2013) This weekend Xclusive X4G left no doubt that they are indeed the #1 10u AAU basketball team in Georgia.  Sunday morning they took to the hardwood, defeated all comers and walked away with the most prized piece of hardware in the state - the AAU State Championship trohpy!

The tournament started with a match-up against the Georgia Playmakers who were quickly dispatched 44-29.  Next up (and down) was Augusta’s Georgia Fusion team, who X4G blasted 49-6.

X4G faced the Georgia Hawks (who X4G had recently beaten by 20 points) in the tourney’s semi-final.  Unlike the last time they played, this matchup would prove to be a bit more challenging.  The game started close and Xclusive only led 20-18 at halftime, but X4G’s second unit (led by new comers Brandon Soutamire Tyler Williams, and Oscar Seman, and veterans Montavious Myrick and Jay Joshi),  came into the game in the 3rd quarter and gave the team a huge lift and the Hawks were eventually slapped down … final score 40-30.

Xclusive headed to the championship to face their arch-rival Respect Game (RG4).  X4G has been RG4’s nemesis for a long while, beating them 5 straight times dating back to the beginning of last year’s travel basketball season.  The teams played in three tournaments together this season, but this was their first head to head meeting.  RG4’s fans were pumped and ready for some pay-back … but X4G wasn’t having it!  X4G jumped out of the box strong, pounding RG4 in the first quarter  with lights out shooting and lockdown defense.  By mid-way through the 2nd quarter X4G had extended the lead to 19 points.  X4G took a 27-15 lead into halftime, but things would get interesting in the second half as R4G battled valiantly to get back into the game.  RG4’s efforts helped them to close the gap to as few as 4 points in the fourth quarter, but that’s as close as they would get.  X4G regained their composure, wore RG4 down, and dashed any hopes of a comeback.  When the horn sounded, X4G walked off with a 35-31 victory and the successful defense of their AAU state championship!

Madison Durr led all X4G scorers with 14 points, with big men Kyle Duncan and Stone McKnight chipping in 6 points each.  Kyle Duncan showed he was the chairman of the boards on this day, pulling down a game high 15 rebounds, with his partner in crime Justin Bullock snagging 6 boards of his own.  Duncan also led X4G in pickpockets, tallying 3 steals.  Jalen Royals and Bullock participated in the thievery too, each garnering 2 steals.  Royals and Bullock led the team in assists, tallying 2 dimes each.  Individual statistics aside, every member of the X4G contributed this weekend and as always it was a team effort and win!

Xclusive X4G beats #5 Ranked Top Riser Academy (Miami, FL)

Xclusive X4G avenged a loss in last year's AAU National Championship tournament to #5 ranked Top Riser Academy (Miami Florida) by beating them 29-28 in the semi-finals of last weekend's Boro Blazin' Classic tourney.  Click the link below to see the action for yourself ...

Xclusive racks up more hardware at YBR's Boro Blazin Classic tournament in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Xclusive headed to Tennessee last weekend to compete in the Boro Blazin’ Classic tournament, which featured four 10u teams ranked in the top 15 in the nation including Georgia Xclusive (#7),  Florida’s Top Riser Academy (#5), Tennessee’s YBR Elite (#10), and Georgia’s Respect Game (#15).   When it was over, X4G left the Tennessee having earned 2nd place in the tournament, but more importantly – the respect of the top AAU basketball teams in the nation.

Xclusive finished pool play 2-1, easily beating Tennessee’s TN Hotshots and Team Shelbyville, but losing a close contest to the host team YBR Elite 29-27.  X4G entered bracket play as the #3 seed and faced the Tennessee Legends in the quarterfinals.  X4G controlled the game from the tip and defeated the Legends 29-21.  In the semi-final contest Xclusive faced Miami’s Top Riser Academy squad.  The Top Risers got out of the gate fast, but Xclusive fought back and took the lead mid-way through the second half.  The contest was tight throughout, with Xclusive holding on to a 1 point lead in the final seconds and winning the contest 29-28.

In the championship game, Xclusive once again faced  #10 ranked YBR Elite.  Xclusive came out of the gate with intense defensive pressure and held YBR to only 6 points in the first half, taking a 14-6 lead into halftime.  Unfortunately, playing six intense games in less than 28 hours began to take its toll on the boys and X4G had trouble maintaining their intensity in the second half of the game.  YBR slowly chipped away at X4G’s lead and with 8 seconds left YBR hit a bucket to take their first lead of the game.  X4G had one final chance, but a turnover and two last second foul shots by YBR dashed X4G's hopes of winning the championship.  Despite the loss, Xclusive did what they came to Tennessee to do … remind everyone that X4G will be a force to be reckoned with come AAU Nationals in July!

Xclusive X4G Wins YBOA March Madness Tournament in Atlanta

(March 18th, 2013) For the six time in as many weeks, Xclusive X4G brought home the gold, this time in the YBOA March Madness tourney in Marietta, GA!

Redundant as it may sound, Xclusive routed the competition in pool play, beating Top Notch Basketball (TNCB) 46-22, the N. Georgia Irish 57-26 and the Atlanta Playmakers 56-33.  In the championship game X4G again faced the Atlanta Playmakers who ironically featured two “ex” (no pun intended) Xclusive players who left the team at the end of last season.  Given the extra motivation, it didn’t take long for X4G to remind their ex-comrades that if you ain’t “with” us, then “X gonna give it to ya”!

X4G jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter of the championship game, but then began to play sluggishly and finished the half leading by only 6 points (16-10).  After a “spirited” halftime talk from their head coach, X4G responded in the 3rd quarter extending the lead to 32-20 and cruising to victory 43-30.  X4G got balanced scoring in the championship game.  Justin Bullock led all scorers with 10 points with KJ Doucet, Kyle Duncan and Jay Joshi chipping in 8, 6, and 6 points respectively.  Duncan was a beast on the boards, leading the team with 12.  Madison Durr led in assists and Bullock led in steals, with each tallying three (3).  Jalen Royals was relatively quiet statically, but still dominated the game with his tenacious defense, rebounding and floor leadership.  The Xclusive bench also made major contributions with big men Stone McKnight,  RJ Noord and Christian Johnson crashing the boards hard, and point guards Brookes Kahlert, Oscar Seman and Tyler Williams controlling the court when they were on the floor.  As it always is with Xclusive, it was a “TEAM” effort!
