The Novice Seals have begun to get into the meat of the Central Plains League schedule as November rolls on and the team is beginning to scratch the surface of it's potential. Evidence of this potential was on display this weekend as the team travelled to Long Plain to take on the Jr. Scouts on Saturday afternoon. Daehan Butler provided a highlight in the Seals 17-7 victory as he blew a slapshot past the Jr. Scouts goalie for his first goal of the season and Andrew Buchanan made a successful debut, registering a third-period assist. The scoring was spread throughout the lineup with every Seal registering a point in a wide open game. Christopher Topfer made a number of huge glove saves on the talented Jr. Scouts players. The win was made even more impressive by the fact that the Seals were dealing with the circus-like atmosphere of Seanna and Colby's Grandma's 40th anniversary party at a hotel in Brandon and Jackson Lee's enormous socks. "The focus it took to play through those outside events was remarkable," commented Coach Klaassen. "We tell the kids all the time, it's not easy playing in a fishbowl but the important thing is staying with the plan and deal with these issues in-house."

Sunday was more of the same from the Seals, playing through the absence of their best-looking coach to earn a hard-fought 7-7 tie with Portage Terriers 1. Jackson Lee rebounded from 'sock-gate' to hold CPNHL scoring leader Carson Inman to 6 goals and the Seals found a way to squeeze out a point. "Back to back games are tough and the kids in that room should be very proud of how hard they played despite the brutal travel schedule we faced this weekend, " stated Coach Blight at his post-game presser. "I'm tired of the big-wigs in their ivory towers scheduling without considering the product on the ice. The fans pay good money to watch these games and they deserve to see teams at their best." Cam Sarna had a big game offensively for the BIG RED MACHINE, using his speed and tenacity to score 4 times while Topfer made his first appearance on the blue line. Tristan Blight also blasted a goal for the hosts.
