Track Fans!!!!!Track Fans!!!!!Yesterday was a showdown of over 625 student athletes in Douglasville Georgia and our very own TriCity Striders dominated. The week long practice sessions proved to be a vital part in our accomplishments from the diaper dandies to 17-18 year olds we stood the course and basically in every event the announcer was mentioning the Striders, which in itself sums up to one word "AWESOME". One of our student athletes was even credited as the "Best" they had seen (20 May) for the racewalk, and that speaks volume considering the fact one of the certified officials son was the National Champion both at USATF & AAU JO Olympics 2015 & 2016. Congratulations Bobby Coleman, you're the one so brighter days are ahead when you turn 9.

 

As stated all of our student athletes competed well to the tune of 96 medals and a second place finish overall, so New Manchester HS will never be the same . I'm also grateful for the commandrie of our parent support group, each of you were grand not only supporting the team (pickles, pop tarts, water, fruit, sandwiches, pastries) but backing the coaches as well. For me, that is number one and I mean that sincerely.

 

Parents as we continue our journey to the JO, please be reminded that we go as a team and leave as a team, so please understand that a meet usually will be long , hot, and sometime seems unorganized which may bring discomfort to you, I would ask that you see the glass as half full, because we can learn what not to do when we host our very own "WE DON'T NEED WINGS TO FLY" 3 Jun 2017. Also we need to cheer for "all" of our student athletes as they participate in their events , from my experience they actually do like to hear the cheers and encourgement. 

 

There will be a parent meeting Thursday @ 6:30 pm, the last one before our meet and the district, parents our meet this weekend in Gulfport Ms, please make every effort to attend (1 Day meet), our transportation is limited and some of our parents will be staying longer and going earlier to entertain themselves as a vacation.
