The Engineers junior guard-forward shined in Baltimore City’s biggest game to date this season against Western on Dec. 20, scoring 24 points and adding 11 rebounds and three blocks in a 69-61 win.
Townes, in her third varsity season, has played a big role in Poly’s 5-1 start, averaging 14 points and seven rebounds. Last season, she was an All-Metro second-team selection after leading the Engineers to the Baltimore City Division I championship — ending Western’s two-year run — and a trip to the Class 3A state semifinals. Able to play all five positions, she averaged 14 points last season.
