TrackLab Results
4/29/2019by Coach G

Morning TriCity, prayerfully everyone made it home safely and you as a student athlete felt good about your performance, because we held our own in competing in the TrackLab meet this weekend. Congratulations to "ALL" of you, who did not complain (at least not to me) about doing several events and the heat, I mean we really did a good job!!!!! Special thanks to all our proctors who was very instrumental in getting "you" to your events, not one of you missed one.

We had a few hiccups (leaving trash on the tarps, leaving before meet over, going to concessions before your events were complete, not finishing our water, not stretching properly, or relaxing, leaving snacks incomplete) all of which will be corrected, real soon!!!!!

I want each of you to know (parents) that I appreciate you for taking the time to come and support your student athletes, who I believe is much better than they were a few months ago and will continue to better themselves if they continue to put "effort" into their competition mindset rather than have a defeatious attitude when someone goes by them. Oh by the way, when our team becomes full strength "all" of the relays will be modified to fit the student athletes capabilities (practice runoffs) and will be changed to the correct standard of using the exchange zone/acceleration.

For this upcoming meet (Trussville) I need to know who will attend and you can do so at our next practice session(Tuesday 30 APR). I'm also considering going back to Carver HS to conduct our practice sessions until I get the okay from the Board of Education (Phenix City). Lakebottom is getting too conjested (non track folks, other teams, parking, pets) and my spiritman is starting to venture in my flesh (Basketball players foul verbage) in other words just too many distraction(s) so we will talk offline.

Congratulations to all of you that received medals Saturday (racewalkers, throwers, jumpers, distance, relays)

Once again, we left our mark on Discovery HS, I'm proud of each of you and the direction in which we are headed, parents it's much easier to make reservations "now" than at the last minute, so please get the jump on the rest of the trackworld because several of you will have your student athletes going to the Junior Olympics (Greensboro, NC) and those going to the Club Championships (Orlando,, FL)
