TRI-CITY ALL-STARS WILL RESUME PLAY IN NOVEMBER 2021 DUE TO COVID-19

San Antonio, TX. - After much consideration and evaluating all options, the Tri-City All-Stars have decided to not play in the shortened American Basketball Association (ABA) 2020-21 season, due to ongoing concerns regarding Covid-19.  “We value the health and well-being of our players, coaches, staff and loyal fans too much to ever put anyone at risk.  At the end of the day, this situation is bigger than basketball, and we want to do our part in being a good community partner by making sure when we return, everyone will be in the safest environment possible.” says Sharon M. Blacknall, TCAS Managing Partner/GM and Co-Regional Director of the ABA South Central Region.

Blacknall continued, "We are all eagerly looking forward to November 6, 2021 as the start of our next season.  The entire organization feels there is ‘unfinished business’ as we ended last season undefeated at 16-0, were ranked #1 in our Division and #3 in the ABA League out of 175 teams at      season’s end before having to stop play because of Covid-19.  We were looking forward to the playoffs and competing for the championship!  Instead we will come back, prepared and better than ever, ready to pick up where we left off and ‘finish business’ this time.”

In the interim, the Tri-City All-Stars will be rolling out some new exciting initiatives and look forward to collaborating with our community partners and local schools. One of the initiatives will be the ABA’s new STAR program. STAR (Stand Tall Against Racism) is the brainchild of ABA CEO Joe Newman.  The goal of STAR is to bridge the gap of divisiveness going on right now in our country, and to encourage all Americans to come together to help erase the ugliness of racism.

In closing, we would like to thank our loyal fans and the entire Tri-City All-Stars organization for their support and understanding.  We appreciate all of you, and please know that we will get through this together because #AllStarsRiseAbove challenges and adversity!
