Club Championships Orlando
7/19/2019by Coach G

Morning TriCity "You" knew it was coming!!!!! Wow!!!As have been the case all season long we took care of business when it counted most at the Club Championships held in Orlando, I mean there was no time for Mickey/Minnie. Don't get me wrong, the competition was superb, but beleive me we held our own, which started with the racewalkers (Angel, Jakayla, Jaidiaya, Aiyanna, Ryan, TJ) getting on the podium (ALL AMERICANS). The very next day the 17-18 boys kept it flowing in the sprint medley and causing a stir that indicated they would be major players in all of the remaining relays (Q, Shermar, DT, Rod) which they did in grand fashion by getting on podium in  both the  4x1,& 4x4. In the 14th year history of TriCity, TriCity 17-18 girls didn't take a back seat to the boys, so they got some hardware in the 4x1 relay. (Mkiyah, Destiny, Mariah, Casey). Aside from the blistering heat, 96 degrees, 6300 student athletes, let me tell you TriCity kept putting logs on the flames in several other events listed below:

HANNAH GIBSON (LJ, TJ)

THENORRIS THOMAS (RW, DISCUS)

Q (400H)

LELE (HJ)

DEJA (RW, DISCUS, JAV, SHOT) qualified at Regions/District

Being tabbed ALL AMERICANS is huge on the circuit (AAU/USATF/TFCUSA) and very hard to master (getting on the podium) but we did almost everytime the announcer was calling results. For all those that came to Orlando and did not get on the podium, I saw Pr's (much better) than when you started (Trent, Kensley, Kennedi, Ladonna, Olivia, Jack, Garison, Janiyah, Alexis, Gamaiya, Aubrey) so that lets us know there is nothing but promise and upside, keep working and stay committed. Parents I appreciate the sarcrifice (travel, lodging, sharing, paying tolls, bowling, and your good nature of trusting us to mentor/train your student athletes

The following will journey to Nationals (Junior Olympics) in Greensboro 27 JUL-3 AUG

Hannah Gibson (LJ, TJ)

Olivia Gibson (RW, DISCUS)

Deja Delaine (RW, DISCUS, JAV, SHOT)

Please place a special prayer for them as they compete against 12,575 student athletes. I'm so proud of each one of you, stay focus/alert we will resume in November for competition. Special "THANKS" to our Magnificent Coaches (Coach Fortune, Coach Galloway) who prepped our student athletes during the season. take a look at the Orlando Photos. Have a great day full of blessings
