Sparkman Track and Field Varsity competed Saturday, 3-14-20 in the 12th Annual Huntsville Panther Invitational at Milton Frank Stadium.

 

The Senators would like to express their appreciation to Coach Young and the Huntsville Panther Track and Field team for putting on a great meet in the face of such chaos.  Everyone was glad to get one more opportunity to compete before the school shutdown

 

The Boys finished 6th and the Girls finished 5th out of 13 teams.

 

Johnny Holloway (Jr) ruled the men’s sprint events with a 1st place finish in the men’s 200m (22.43) and a 3rd place in the 100m (11.23). Johnny shaved over 2 seconds off his previous 200m best for a new PR!

 

The men’s throwers dominated the field again with Jon Keiser (Sr) taking 1st place in the Javelin for the second week in a row with a throw of 162-10. Terrant Young (So) took his first Varsity Gold in the men’s discus with a throw of 122-05.  This was a PR for Terrant! Nick McNeal (Sr) also stepped on the podium with his 3rd place throw in discus of 113-05.

 

In the men’s jumps, Brody Wallace (Jr) placed 3rd in Pole Vault with a jump of 11-00.00.

 

In the Girls Field events, Kaylyn Hardrick (Sr) crushed the completion with two 1st place finishes. Kaylyn took Gold in Shot Put with a throw of 35-07.25 and Gold in discus with a throw of 96-11.

 

In the women’s track events, India Smith took the Silver for her efforts in the 200m (25.86). The Sparkman women’s 4x100 team A also won a silver medal.

2nd Place: 4x100m - Sparkman Lady Senators A (49.75)

 

3rd Place: 100m – Johnny Holloway (11.23)

3rd Place: Discus – Nick McNeal (113-05)

3rd Place: Pole Vault – Brody Wallace (11-00.00)
