INDIANAPOLIS - East Central girls varsity basketball coach Kevin Moore was named to the 2022 Indiana All-Stars coaching staff Friday, Feb. 25, in the announcement by All-Star game director Mike Broughton.

The Indiana All-Stars will play the first round of their annual girls-boys doubleheader series against the Kentucky All-Stars in Owensboro, Ky., on June 11, with the rematch on June 12 at Southport Fieldhouse.

Moore is 221-88 in 13 seasons with the Lady Trojans, including the last three consecutive Class 4A sectional titles and six Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference championships in the last 11 seasons.

He led East Central to a 22-5 mark this past season, along with the No. 11 ranking in the final Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Class 4A poll and the 17th spot in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association single division poll.

Veteran Homestead High coach Rod Parker was named head coach of the Girls Indiana All-Stars team Friday.  Parker led Homestead to a 23-2 record and a Summit Athletic Conference title and Class 4A sectional title this season.Parker is 379-128 in 21 seasons at Homestead, with a state championship in 2017 and another state finals appearance in 2015.  Also named as an Indiana Girls All-Stars assistant coach, with Moore, was Princeton coach Brittany Maners.  Maners is 53-53 in five seasons at Princeton, following a run of three 20-win seasons and three sectional titles at Evansville Central.  The girls Indiana All-Stars roster will be announced in coming weeks.

Moore released the following statement after the coaching staff was announced:

"Being selected by the Indiana All-Star Director Mike Broughton to the All-Star staff is a tremendous honor.  In coaching, I don't set out to achieve individual accolades or awards. But I'm really proud of this appointment, because I respect the people who are in the decision-making roles.  I don't have many individual coaching goals. Most of my goals are team-related. But coaching on the Indiana All-Stars senior team is a goal that I've had for a long time. Growing up, I used to attend the Indiana vs. Kentucky All-Star games. So now, to be able to say I coached in that game is pretty cool.  What I'm also proud of is the fact that being selected for something like this means you coach a winning program. I certainly wouldn't be in a position to be an Indiana All-Star coach if I didn't have such wonderful assistant coaches over the years, who share in my passion and vision for what running a winning program looks like.  Without great players, current and past, I wouldn't have this honor, as well. I share this award with them.  When I took this job over 13 years ago, it's safe to say it wasn't a very good job, and I knew it was going to be a challenge. But I relished that challenge and have been driven to make it a winner - doing things the right way and with lots of hard work.”

Moore won’t be a complete Indiana All-Star coaching rookie when the team goes to camp in June, he noted.

“In 2015, I was a member of the Indiana Junior All-Star coaching staff, so I have a little experience with the All-Star series.  That year, I was also able to work along with Coach Parker, who was selected again this time. I really look forward to working with such a successful coach, and someone that has become a great friend since 2015.  I've heard good things about Coach Manners, so I look forward to getting to know her.”
