With time winding down and the Chaos having killed their 4 minute penalty the Amazons would strike. After a lengthy shift by the Chaos, #16 Sarah Kendall of the Amazons would skate the puck into the Chaos zone. Kendall would make a tight turn off the half wall and walked right into the high slot and let a shot go which beat the Chaos goalie over the shoulder. The game was now tied at 1-1 with 3:07 left in the 2nd period.
The Amazons were not done though as LaShawn Vick would score just 30 seconds later. Off the face-off from Kendall's goal the puck would be dumped into the Amazons zone, #21 Sarah Botter would pick up a loose puck and chiped it to Vick in the neutral zone. Vick picked the puck up and blew past the Chaos defender and scored with a low shot under Parkyn's glove to give the Amazons their first lead of the game. With Vick's goal the Amazons now had a 2-1 lead. The Chaos had a slight edge in shots with a 10-9 lead but Nisa stood tall and shut the door.
The third period started and the Amazons were rejuvinated from their late 2nd period surge. The Amazons took control and shut down the Chaos at every turn. The Chaos took 2 penalties in the third and while the Amazons didn't score they created some great scoring chances. With time winding down and under one (1) minutes to play the Chaos pulled their goalie. The Amazons though were up to the challenge and didn't give up a shot on net. With six (6) seconds left in the period to play the Chaos called a time-out and tried to draw up a play. The Amzons won the draw and Emma Malsbury came out with the puck, with time ticking down she shot for the open net but hit the post!
