BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO KIRA MAKUK.

Former Calgary Titan, Kira Makuk, has made the final cut for the University of Calgary Dinos womens hockey team for the 2016/17 season.

Kira played with the Titans in the 2015-2016 season.  Needless to say, Kira was a pivotal asset being an exceptional defenceman as well as one of the leading scoring players on our team.  Kira was a vital component to our teams success and helped lead the Titans to the league championship finals last year.

Kira's desire and goal was to play in the CIS for a university team, namely the University of Calgary Dinos.   Kira trained long hard hours throughout the summertime to get into top shape so she could put on her best at the Dinos camp.   Despite being told at first that the Dinos had no place for her on their team, Kira persevered and decided to tryout regardless, in the hope that her determination and skill would change their minds.  Through all of her hard work, skill and persistence, she convinced them and secured a spot on the team.  This was and is a very significant accomplishment.

The Titans players and staff are united in sending a huge congratulations to Kira for making the Dinos squad.  We are so proud of Kira's success and determination and wish her and the Dinos the best of luck in the upcoming season which we will be following with great interest.
