Rebel Pitchers Combine to Shutout Foard HS

     West Lincoln Rebel Varsity defeated Fred T Foard HS 1-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.  The pitching was strong on both sides.  West Lincoln Rebel Varsity pitchers struck out ten, while hurlers for Fred T Foard HS sat down seven.Brett Eurey earned the win for West Lincoln Rebel Varsity, his first varsity win. He threw four innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, while striking out six. Chase Benfield threw two innings.  Seth Willis recorded the last three outs to earn the save for West Lincoln Rebel Varsity, on a groundout from Matt Greenwood to earn his first varsity save to go along with his first win earlier in the week.  

 

     West Lincoln Rebel Varsity took an early lead in the first inning.  West Lincoln Rebel Varsity scored one run on a stolen base in the first inning.

One bright spot for Fred T Foard HS was Caleb Lutjens.  Lutjens took the loss for Fred T Foard HS, but he tossed five innings, allowing one run, four hits, striking out six, and only walking one.

 

     Parker Chapman led the Rebels at the plate with 2 hits while Eurey led West Lincoln Rebel Varsity with one run batted in. He went 1-for-2 on the day.

 

     Fred T Foard HS didn't commit a single error in the field. Matt Greenwood had the most chances in the field with eight.
