Bats Heat Up in Cold Weather

     West Lincoln Rebel Varsity had 11 hits in the game, despite the coldest weather of the season.  West Lincoln Rebel Varsity secured the victory thanks to five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Brett Eurey, a single by Dylan Burkey, and a double by Dalton Brooks.  EureyBurkey, and Brooks each collected multiple hits for West Lincoln Rebel Varsity, but Eurey led the way for the Rebels with two runs batted in. He went 3-for-3 on the day.

 

     West Lincoln Rebel Varsity defeated Newton-Conover 6-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.  Brooks earned the win for West Lincoln Rebel Varsity. He pitched six innings, surrendering zero runs, three hits, striking out eight, and walking zero.  Eli Wright took the loss for Newton-Conover.  He threw three innings, giving up five runs, eight hits, striking out three, and walking one.  Seth Willis induced a groundout from Brantley Durham to finish off the game.  West Lincoln Rebel Varsity played solid defense behind the pitcher as they didn't commit a single error in the field.  Logan Carpenter had the most chances in the field with nine.

 

     One bright spot for Newton-Conover was a single by Daniel Kahill in the first inning.

Kahill led Newton-Conover with two hits in three at bats.
