SSSF Ignites Reality Fighting
January 16, 2010
SSSF had a nice showing this past Saturday night at Reality Fighting's "Detonation" down in Plymouth.
To start SSSF's night undefeated 145lb. fighter Mike Marcioni stepped up a weight class (155lb.) and won a very exciting back and forth battle. In the first round Mike was caught in a deep guillotine choke but kept his composure and was able to fight out before the round ended. It was all Mike from that point on and he secured a rear naked choke for the win in the second.
Official Result:
Win - Marcioni via RNC at 2:05 of Round 2
In SSSF's next fight Mike Polvere pulled out a close decision to also remain undefeated. All three rounds pretty much consisted of Polvere winning the stand-up to start and his opponent then taking him down. From there Polvere went for multiple submissions off his back which didn't allow his opponent to do much with the position.
Official Result:
Win - Polvere by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
The Co-Main Event featured SSSF's Fred Belleton in a fight for the vacant 205lb title. Fred was fighting at a weight class above his normal 185lb and against a very large 205er known for his wrestling. Capitalizing on that, Fred's opponent got him to the ground early nullifying Fred's biggest weapon, his kicks, and just held top position for almost all of Round 1. Round 2 started the same but this time his opponent quickly went for and locked up a north-south choke forcing the tap.
Official Result:
Loss - Belleton via North-South Choke at 1:24 of Round 2
South Shore Sportfighting went 2-1 for the night,
improving thier record to 5-1 on the year!
