The Delran Hockey League was formed on January 15, 2010 as an independent outdoor roller hockey league consisting of players aged 18 and older, with Referees and Score keeping. Since it's inaugural spring/summer season in 2010, the DHL has grown from 70 players to 175 with over 100 games being played. Now entering their 7th season, the DHL is expecting 175+ players with over 100+ games and recently renovated the outdoor rink. The DHL also holds a Fall League that begins early October.
All games are played at the Summer Hill Hockey Rink(Ken Johnston Memorial Park) in Delran, NJ. All teams are drafted by volunteer captains. THIS LEAGUE IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE DELRAN ROLLER HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
Required Equipment:
- Helmet (face shield not required but highly recommended!)
- Elbow Pads
- Shin Pads
- Gloves
- Stick
- Inline Hockey Skates
- Jersey(will be provided by league)
Game Format:
Regular Season:
- Three 15 minute periods
- Outdoor G-Force ball is used, not puck
- Clock stops with 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd period within 3 goal differential
- Each team gets one time out in regulation
- Tie game - one 5 minute overtime, shootout if still tied
- Overtime (Sudden Death) - Running Clock
- Teams must have 3 players & goalie to play, forfeit if not
- Must have all required equipment to play, including 4 wheels on each skate.
- Non-rostered players are not allowed except for league approved goalies
Playoffs(all regular season rules except):
- Clock stops with 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd period within 3 goal differential
- Tie game - two 5 minute overtime periods, shootout if still tied
- Overtime (Sudden Death) - Running Clock
TIEBREAKER
In the event teams are tied in the standings, the following tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.
1. Wins.
2. Head to Head.
3. Goal differential.
