ABOUT THE MTBA

The Markham Town Basketball Association (MTBA) is a not-for-profit, indoor basketball organization aimed for those aged 16+. We seek to unite the Markham community under one banner of athletic competition, sportsmanship and brotherhood.

In April 2011, the MTBA was created with a common goal of the need for an organized basketball league in the Town of Markham. Our vision promises a safe, organized and professional environment where players can showcase their skills and take an active role to grow as individuals and leaders.

The MTBA commences its annual season every January with a 10 game season & playoffs in order to crown a Champion. We offer a high level of competition, while still maintaining an organized and safe set of basketball standards.

BASKETBALL BOOT CAMP

In October 2011, the Basketball Boot Camp was created under the MTBA which is aimed for children between the ages of 8-15. The Boot Camp allows children to develop their skills and keep them physically active and involved. MTBA Coaches are responsible to train, mentor and help the players in order for them to become better basketball players, and more importantly, to develop a connection with the community. Due to positive feedback from players and parents, the Boot Camp is organized every year from October to December. Registration for the Boot Camp begins in August.
