About the MARSH CREEK BASS CLUB
History of Our Club

The Marsh Creek Bass Club was formed in the mid 1980’s and currently has a membership of 25 senior members and 4 junior members. Our namesake lake, Marsh Creek, is the home of many of our Club and Open tournaments.  We are a non-profit, non federated organization holding an average of 12 closed club tournaments a year & 2 open tournaments. We fish most local lakes, the Susquehanna River, the Potomac River, Onieda Lake & the Chesapeake Bay. Other lakes in the state of Pennsylvania that are normally on the tournament schedule include Raystown Lake, Sayers Dam and Beltzville Lake.

The Club consists of a Board of Directors, elected officers and the general membership. Elected officers are voted in every other year, to serve two year terms. Officers of the Club are proactively involved with programs throughout the State of PA, which include the annual Black Bass Seminars and YBACS (Youth Bass Anglers Conservation School) Black Bass Seminars are conducted every year at various locations around the State, promoting all aspects of bass conservation. While the first YBACS education program was conducted in 2004, it offered a unique learning experience for young Pennsylvanians with a passion for bass fishing and a thirst for warm water fishery knowledge. This week long class for 14 to 17 year old youths consisted of fish biology, fisheries management, habitat improvement, boating safety, fishing skills and techniques, conservation careers and tournament angling. This was a cooperative effort between many state agencies to present this first ever school in PA and we were honored to be associated with the program.
