About the Crooks

The Crooks were established in Fall of 2017 following a two year run as the LA Lions. The Lions finished the last season under that name with 13 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie record. They went into the Spring 2017 playoffs as a #2 seed however they would face off against familiar rivals the Dodos who took down the Lions. Upon the finish of the 2017 Spring Season, the Lions underwent roster changes, uniform changes, and the name change to the Crooks.  In the Fall of 2017 the Crooks finished the fall season with a 8-1 record, going into playoffs as a 1 seed. They took down the Hollywood Expos with a score of 14-2 in 6 innings, and then prevailed against the Lookouts in a nerve wracking game. The Crooks won by a score of 12-11 in a final of 10 innings, sending them to their first championship game. They would go on to face the Bersekers and manage a 4-3 Victory over the Bersekers earning them their first Championship in PCBL.

While the Crooks were competitive in 2018, they were bounced from the playoffs each season.  Despite a successful 2019 Spring Season, the Crooks were eliminated in the semifinals.  Going into the 2019 Fall Season, the Crooks added additional pitching and felt very confident about their championship aspirations.  The Crooks went 9-0 in the regular season before ultimately beating the Smokies 16-5 in a one-sided championship game.
