The West Virginia High School Baseball Coaches Association (WVBCA) was officially formed by George Brumfield, Al Estep, Toby Holbrook, and John Lowery Sr. in 1992, to provide services and recognition for baseball coaches and to help promote and represent high school baseball across West Virginia. The current membership has coaches from every area in the state.
Official Organization Function/Events:
- Annual Convention and Clinic: Held once per year in Charleston, WV.
- Board Meetings: Four times per year. Includes a meeting at the annual convention, a meeting at the North/South All-Star game, and a meeting in October.
- North/South All-Star Game: Held the Sunday after the state tournament in June. The game honors seniors and is preferred to be played at GoMart Ballpark.
- State Coaches Poll: Teams are rated in each of the 3 classes 8 times each spring. Poll champions are recognized at the annual convention. To Vote you must be a registered member of the WVBCA
- Hall of Fame: The HOF induction is the highlight of the awards banquet at the annual convention. The Board of Directors selects inductees. Nomination forms can be found on website.
- Assistant Coach of the Year Award The Board of Directors selects inductees. Nomination forms can be found on website.
- Past Presidents Hall of Fame: All former WVBCA Presidents and Hall of Fame members are invited back for the Hall of Fame Banquet.
- A representative of the WVBCA regularly attends all meetings of the WVSSAC Board of Control in Parkersburg.
