What other costs are a part of playing for Pure Sweat Academy
Income per team of 8-10 players is $7,745 @ $860.00)** If there are fewer than 10 players on a team then the difference between income and expenses rises.

$3,040 for 7-8 tournaments (avg. $475 per tournament)
$3,600 for Practices (16 weeks with 2 per week at 1.5 hours each equals 48 hours of practice at average rental cost of $75 per hour)
$200 for AAU cards & insurance for 8-10 players and 2 coaches
$525 for Coaches’ Expenses including Shirts, background checks, travel expenses.** All other club administrative expenses and the shortfall from the registration fees are made up by tournament income- primarily admissions since coverage and concessions go to individual teams as fund raisers.
There is an initial $25 tryout fee collected at the first tryout along with the Registration Form. When your child makes a team, you will be required to pay a Player Fee of $860 at the team’s Parent Meeting.
In addition to the cost of uniforms, another cost is any shared monies needed so your team can play in tournaments beyond the first 3 full tournaments that are paid for by your registration fees. If your team travels to non-local tournaments or qualifies for Nationals then there are significant additional costs including travel, room and board, etc. Any team that goes to AAU Nationals or summer ‘exposure’ tournaments are responsible to pick up the cost of transportation, room, and board for two coaches.
The club looks for people: that can meet the demanding time commitment, knowledgeable of the game from playing and/or coaching, and can organize and manage practices and games.
At least as important as that skill set is that the coach can keep winning in perspective, handle varying levels of parental interest, create a team atmosphere, and understand the important impact a coach can have on a young player.
Different age levels clearly need coaches with different abilities and outlooks. The club has a Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse History Clearance done on each potential coach. Look for our tryout schedule for girls and boys in grades four through eight in February for girls and boys at various locations. Look at our schedule page for dates, times and locations. All players must pay a twenty five dollar tryout fee and sign a waiver before tryouts. If you are selected for a team you must register and purchase a uniform.
