9/15/10: Olympia vs. Arcadia (Arcadia wins 1 - 0)

In a match against evenly skilled teams, Arcadia held the upper hand for most of the game as they controlled play and kept up pressure on the defense for most of the game.  After the game went into the second half 0 - 0, both teams picked up play in the second half having more opportunities through counterattacks.  Olympia would have a goal taken off the scoreboard in the 60th minute as offsides would be called.  Arcadia would then have a free kick from 20 yards out that they blasted at the wall.  The wall split and the ball snuck in the near post.  Olympia would have a few opportunities to close out the game, but were unable to find an equalizer.

9/21/10: Olympia vs. Spencerport (Spencerport wins 1 - 0)

Olympia travelled to Spencerport to play a night game against the 10th ranked team in the state and would lose their 4th straight game by a score of 1 - 0.  After the game went into the second half 0 - 0, Olympia had a couple of very close scoring opportunities and would pick up its play to where the game was evenly matched.  Unfortunately, Spencerport would find the back of the net with 6 minutes to play in regulation, as a ball went through the box and was finished by Matt Englert at the back door as he came through unmarked.  The Spartans would again have a last second scoring opportunity that was blocked by a field player and cleared away securing the Ranger win.

9/22/10: Olympia vs. Monroe (Olympia wins 4 - 0)

Olympia bounced back from their tough beat to Spencerport with an offensive barrage as they took down Monroe-Edison by a score of 4 - 0.  Not 2 minutes into the game, Max Egan got loose in the middle of the field and played a brilliant ball to Gayang which he finished inside the six yard box to give the Spartans a 1 - 0 lead.  Olympia would not look back as Josh Harrington's well played corner kick found the head of Antonio Guarracci who headed it past a diving keeper.  Max Egan would finish the scoring in the first half as he dribbled past 2 defenders and slid a shot past the Monroe keeper giving the Spartans a 3 - 0 lead at the half.  Josh Harrington would finish the scoring for the Spartans in the 47th minute with a lazer shot from 30 yards out that deflected off the keepers hands into the back of the net.  Max Drexler was stellar in goal getting his first shut-out of the season and recording 13 saves.  Olympia would win the match by a score of 4 - 0 for their first win of the season.

Olympia would play its 3rd game in 3 days home against Brockport, and it showed.  The Spartans gave up a goal in the 15th minute and couldn't respond.  Olympia would have a break away 1 on 1 with the keeper that was missed and with that went away the opportunities to respond.  Brockport would find the back of the net again in the 30th minute that took the wind out of the Spartans sails.  Though Olympia played hard to start the second half trailing 2 - 0, when Brockport scored their 3rd goal in the 51st minute, the Spartans had little left in the tank.  Brockport would go on to score 2 more and win by a score of 5 - 0.

10/2/10: Olympia vs. Churchville Chili (Churchville Chili wins 4 - 0)

Churchville came out of the gates hot getting 2 early goals in the first 5 minutes that Olympia would never bounce back from.  On a very sloppy field, bad touches on the ball and a lack of communication would be the spartans downfall.  Churchvilles Zach Blum would get a hat trick and Peter Psomiadis would add the last of the 4 goals as Churchville Chili went on to win 4 - 0.  Max Drexler had 15 saves in the game.

10/7/10: Olympia vs. Arcadia (Arcadia wins 2 - 1)

Arcadia would outshoot the Spartans on this very windy day, but Olympia got on the board first.  Max Egan defeated a couple defenders and then layed off a great ball to Samir Bensalama-Gharbi who slipped it past the Titan goal keeper.  The Spartans would lead 1 - 0 at the half and maintain that lead until 18 minutes left in the game when Arcadia hit a beauty of a shot from 25 yards out to the upper 90 of the goal and tie up the game.  Olympia would hit the post two more times during the match, but it would be Arcadia who would finish the scoring with 3 minutes left in the game to win 2 - 1.

Scores: Samir Bensalama-Gharbi (27:58) assisted by Max Egan

10/13/10: Olympia vs. Spencerport (Spencerport wins 5 - 0)

#4 ranked in the state Spencerport scored 15 minutes into the game and would take a 1 - 0 lead into the half.  The Rangers would get their scoring down in the second half though as they went on to win the game 5 - 0.  This was a dissapointing defeat for the Spartans who have been playing inspired and very well as of late.

10/15/10: Olympia vs. Brockport (Brockport wins 2 - 0)

In the cold rain on a friday evening, Olympia would go toe to toe and nose to nose with this strong Brockport team.  The two teams battled out to a 0 - 0 tie at the half.  Each team would have their opportunities in the second half, but following a questionable foul on the spartans and an missed empty netter, the Blue Devils would find the back of the net with 18 minutes left in the game.  Olympia would continue to put pressure on Brockport, but Brockport countered the Spartan attack and slipped a security goal in with 8 minutes to play.  Brockport would go to win by a score of 2 - 0.

Keeper: Max Drexler -  12 saves

10/19/10: Olympia vs. Gates Chili (Gates Chili wins 2 - 1 in 2OT)

In what would be considered the best game that Olympia would play all year, the Spartans stood toe to toe with a strong Gates team.  The teams would go into the half with a scoreless tie.  Gates would break the scoreless tie with a goal in the 53rd minute.  Olympia fought back though, as Max Egan scored unassisted with just 15 minutes left in the match.  The two teams would go back and forth for the remainder of the game and through the first overtime.  Just as you thought the teams would each take points away from this hard fought game, Gates Chili's Eric Gorevski hit a lasor from 30 yards past a diving Max Drexler in the 99th minute.  Max Drexler was outstanding in goal making 22 saves in the losing effort.

Highlights:
Keeper: Max Drexler -  22 saves
Scores: Max Egan unassisted (65th minute)

10/21/10: Olympia vs. Hilton (Hilton wins 2 - 0)

Hilton would not find this game to be quite as easy as the first meeting, but would come away victorious regardless.  The Spartans kept the game scoreless until 2 minutes left in the first half when Mike Vincelli found the back of the net for the first of his 2 goals.  Vincelli would score the clincher in the 71st minute.  Max Drexler made 15 saves in net.

Keeper: Max Drexler - 15 saves

10/27/10: Olympia #14 vs. Aquinas #3 (Aquinas wins 5 - 0 in sectionals)

3rd ranked Aquinas controlled play in the first half but was unable to find the back of the net.  Unfortuneatly for the Spartans, we found it for them.  An own goal 5 minutes into the game would be the only score of the first half.  Olympia had a few opportunities to start the second half, but hopes were diminished when the Irish found the back of the net in the 45th minute.  Despite Max Drexler making a great penalty shot save and Patrick Zachmeyer saving a few goals as well in the last few minutes, there were not to many positive moments for Olympia in the second half.

Highlights:
Keeper: Max Drexler - 15 saves (including a PK) / Patrick Zachmeyer - 3 saves
