We were very fortunate to find Gordon.  Our household contains 3 softball players, one baseball player and one coach so we had a need for someone we could trust with our old gloves as well as our new ones.  We've all been extremely satisfied with the work he's done for us and happily refer him to all our team members.

Thanks Gordon - keep up the good work.

Thank you Gordon for the excellent repair work on my glove that I have had now for over 30 years. As good as new and no longer held together with shoe strings.

Thanks again!

I am writing to say what a wonderful experience I had recently with a local merchant, Gordon C. King of A1 Glove Repair, LLC. I wanted to buy my brother a new softball glove for his birthday, but he had become so attached to the glove that he has had since his teens. It was worn, had strings broken, and was hard as a piece of wood. I looked online to see if I could get it restored. I was about to send it in the mail to a place that did restoration of old gloves, when I saw a service that offered the same, at a more reasonable price and turnaround time, and it was right in my neighborhood! My brother was overjoyed with his ‘new’ glove.

Thank you Gordon!

Gordon King replaced a string in my sons mit. It was obvious the quality of the new string and the workmanship. He also tightened all the strings and dropped the mit off at my work.  It was quick, a great value and quality workmanship.  I couldn't imagine taking a glove to anyone else.

I found my father's old Rawling's 3 finger Stan Musial baseball glove and it was in "vintage" shape.  The strings were broke and the glove needed some serious TLC.  I found out about Gordon's baseball glove refinishing/repair company and he really did a great job restoring it.  I got it oiled and restrung for very little money.  Now I can share my father's glove with my own children.  Good job Gordon!

I wanted to take a quick moment and let you know how happy I was with the restoration you did on my daughter's glove!  You did a fabulous job on it.  It looked like a brand new glove when I got it back from you.  Your knowledge and wisdom on this was amazing.  The craftsmanship was unbelievable and I will defintely be recommending you to all my friends who have girls in fast pitch!!  You are the best!  Thanks again for everything.

I am going to Indians Fantasy Camp  in January 2014 and want to take my 1981 Rawling’s Reggie Jackson glove. Didn’t want to buy a new glove, but wanted to take “my” glove that has gotten me through hundreds of softball games over the years. It needed all lacing replaced as well as the padding in the palm.  I found out about Gordon King’s A1 glove repair service through a flyer at our community rec center. Gave him a call and set up a meeting at his place. I left my glove and when I picked it up a few days later, I couldn’t have been happier. The padding and lacing were just what my glove needed, along with a complete oiling with his own special mixture. He not only knows what to do to bring gloves back to life, but is also a very interesting person. A few minutes after you meet him, you feel as if you are one of his long-time friends. It is great to see someone who has turned his knowledge and passion of baseball gloves into a career that seems to make him as happy as his customers.

I already have and will continue to recommend him to anyone I think could use his service.

I just wanted to thank you for the excellent job on our three gloves.  Your understanding and knowledge of what needed to be done was excellent, and the quality of your workmanship even better.  You made my son feel like a pro, and he loves what you did to his gloves. Your work was fast, and your pricing was more than fair. I would recommend you to anyone needing work on their glove.  You make old gloves look new, and make new gloves feel like they were custom made.

Thank you.

I would like to thank Gordon and A1 Glove repair for the recent work he did for me.  I contacted Gordon after my son blew out the webbing of his catcher's mitt and we were in need of a quality repair and fast turnaround as my son had a tournament starting in just a couple of days.  Gordon and Joyce (his wife) went above and beyond to help us out.  Not only did he fix and condition my son's mitt in an extremely timely manner but then I decided to pass on my old glove from playing college ball to him to see if he could work some magic on it.  Gordon delivered big time and I look forward to using my glove to play catch with my boys for years to come!  Thanks and I highly recommend A1 to anyone in need of great quality repairs, performed in a timely manner at very reasonable prices.

This glove is over 4 years old and has 200 games behind it.  Gordon at A1 Glove Repair put in all new black laces and the glove not only looks awesome but feels like it could handle 200 more games.  With an up and coming younger brother, it just may.

My 12 year old son was thrilled with how it turned out.  I would highly recommend any player or parent in need of glove service to call Gordon.

Thanks!

Gordon,
I wanted to take the time to thank you for the work you did on my Wilson A2000.  I can not believe how great it looks and feels.  I never thought that after 30 years of use it could look and feel like it did when I bought it in 1984.  The glove means more to me than you can ever know and I am so thankful that because of your repairs I will be able to use it for another 30 years.

THANK YOU!  You did an awesome job with my old glove.  I sent Gordon my glove that I have had since 8th grade (23 years ago) and used it all the way through my college career. This glove has seen a lot of softball games and practices.  I recently started playing slow pitch softball and my poor glove was in need of some new strings and needed to be reconditioned.  I had been re-tying the strings back together where they broke.  There wasn’t much left of that string.  I live in Oregon and knew Gordon worked magic on old gloves.  I was really afraid that my glove had seen its last game.  I mailed my glove to him expecting him to tell me there is nothing he can do for it.  I never received that phone call!  My glove was returned to me in no time and me and my old glove are playing again.  Thank you for everything! That glove means the world to me.

A-1 Glove Repair re-strung my 1970s Wilson A 2000 XL.  Gordon's workmanship is top notch.  The cost, $25.00, is more than reasonable, especially since it included the restoration of the leather as well as the new strings.  Gordon and his wife were cordial and very accommodating, especially to my 7 year old twins who were with me when I dropped off the glove and engaged in an impromptu wrestling mach on their livingroom floor.  I will certainly refer anyone I know to Gordon for glove repairs.   Thanks Gordon for giving my glove another 30 years!

I was looking for someone to repair the baseball glove that I have had since I was a junior in high school (18 years ago).  I used it all the way through college and then for the last 8 years playing and coaching my children.  Recently some of the loops in the pocket started to break and I hadn't been able to use it as much as I would have liked.  I thought about, and even looked at, buying a new glove but didn't want to spend another $200 to get a new glove.  I was down at a tournament in Columbus, with my son's travel team, when I saw the Glove Doctor.  He was restringing gloves and could do other minor repairs.  I started thinking that maybe I had other options and started researching places online that were close to me.  I game across Gordon's site and liked what I read so I figured I would give him a shot.  After about 2 minutes of conversation I could tell that Gordon knew a lot about gloves and was the one that I was going to trust my glove to.  In addition to fixing the pocket loops and the tear in the glove, he also restrung the glove and reconditioned the entire glove.  I was amazed at how good the glove looked.  I look forward to another 18 years out of my glove.  I will definetly go back to Gordon if I have any other glove needs and for the price you won't find anybody better.

Thanks again for everything.  I will definetly call if I need anything else and will be more than happy to pass your contact information along to both my son's baseball teams as well as my daughters softball team.

Being a catcher your glove goes through a lot of wear and tear. Recently my glove had a tear with the stitching on the thumb and I did not know if it could be fixed or not. I had a back up glove if I need to use it but you know how it is with gloves you don't use that much, they just don't feel right during a game. So I needed my glove fixed so that I could play in my next college summer game in a day. I asked Gordon if I could have it done in a day and he said he would have it to me, game ready by the next day. I was a little hesitant because who can repair a glove for the long term in a day.

The next day three hours before my game my glove was completely fixed. He restitched the torn part and used glue to hold it. Five games later it is still perfect. I was amazed by what he was able to do is such a short period of time. I just want to say thank you so much! I recommend anyone who needs their glove repaired go to A1 Glove Repair.

I cannot thank you enough for your excellent craftsmanship and the incredible service you provide. Last year my son had ripped the pocket of his catcher's mitt, I desperately called you on a Tuesday hoping that you would be able to repair it by Thursday. We were leaving for a tournament in Cooperstown early Friday morning, and I was expecting to be disappointed. However, much to my surprise you said, "Let me take a look at it, I'm sure we can figure something out." After examining the mitt you stated, "I'll have it ready for you tomorrow." Wednesday morning you called to let me know the mitt was ready. I picked it up before noon on Wednesday and was shocked to see that you had restrung and reinforced the entire pocket and made it stronger than the original design. You also reconditioned the entire mitt. All of this was done at a very minimal cost. My son was amazed when he saw his glove. He thought I had bought him a new mitt.

As a result of my awesome first experience working with you I thought I would challenge you with the task of seeing what you could do to bring my Little League glove back to life. Needless to say my Spalding Richie Hebner model infielders mitt had seen better days. It had not been used or cared for in 20+ years and if it was up to my wife it would probably be in a garbage dump. Needless to say I could not part with my first real baseball mitt. Two days after receiving the glove you called to let me know it was ready. I was amazed when I saw my treasured glove. You placed a new piece of leather in the palm, restrung the entire mitt and reconditioned it. You again exceeded my expectations. it looked better than I remember it looking the last time I used it over 20 years ago.

This glove is one of my prized possessions. It now has a permanent place on my shelf in my office. The site of it brings back a flood of memories from wonderful summers of days gone by. The passion you have for baseball in general, and baseball gloves specifically, is unsurpassed. Again, I cannot thank you enough for doing what you do. When it comes to restoring gloves in a professional timely manner at an affordable price - no one does it better. I recommend you to all my friends and colleagues and will continue to do so every chance I get.

Gordon did some work on my glove almost three years ago. I know he relaced, put some protector on it, and took this hard piece of plastic out of the thumb which now gives me way more control. It's definitely in the best condition it can be in! I highly recommend going to Gordon for any glove NEED. And not to mention he loves the game, so he takes great care and is very speedy on getting it back to you in time for your next game!

I had been having problems for a while with my glove's strap staying velcroed shut. Every time I went onto the field, I would have to tighten it, which was a constant pain, and it would just randomly open on its own, which was especially dangerous when the ball was flying at my face. Gordon then fixed it (this was five years ago) by putting snaps on it to keep it tight and shut. It has worked phenomenally since then, and hasn't budged or broken since! My glove is still good as new.

After sitting out the 2012 softball season due to a couple shoulder surgeries, it was time to pull out the 25 year old Wilson A2000 softball glove and get ready for the 2013 softball season.

One problem though, I forgot though that during the 2011 season "Old Faithful" sustained some damage, and needed to be restrung. With the first practice looming, and my glove needing repair, I was in trouble.

Out of despair I searched "softball glove repair Parma Ohio" and found A1 Glove Repair. I called and spoke with Gordon King, the owner of the business, and he assured me that he could have my old A2000 looking new again, and within a 4 day turnaround!

Not only was the glove restrung, with heavier leather strings, but Gordon also reconditioned the leather, all for a great price!

I gotta say that Gordon did a fantastic job on "Old Faithful" almost to the point that it is going to loose that name, because it looks almost brand new. But it's better than brand new, because it's my old, already broken in glove that I have used for years!

Who knows, with my glove redone, this may not be my retirement tour season!

Thank you Gordon, now if I can only remember how to play as good as my glove looks!

I have never met anyone who knows more about the art of breaking in and repairing baseball gloves than Gordon King.  Gordon restrung, reconditioned and dramatically improved the performance of an old glove my son uses when playing U14 baseball for the Northern Ohio Baseball Club.  The craftsmanship and value we received from Gordon far exceeded our expectations.  We loved the work he did on the old glove so much that we gave him a new glove to break in and condition.  I have already told several friends about the excellent work Gordon does at a very affordable price.  I will continue to recommend Gordon to anyone who may be in need of this special service.  He is one of a kind!!

Thanks to A1 Glove Repair, I can now watch my son play ball with the same glove that I played with over 30 years ago! This glove had been damaged through the years by rain, mold, and of course, many, many putouts.

In addition to resurrecting my glove, Gordon has generously contributed his time and expertise to the entrepreneurship program at Notre Dame College.

A special thanks to Gordon King for all that you do!

Just wanted to drop a note to say that Gordon King of A1 Glove Repair did an outstanding job with breaking in a new mitt that I had just purchased for my son who plays competitive travel ball. The finished product made the glove pretty much usable from day one. Many thanks to Gordon who saved me countless hours of trying to break in this glove.

I wanted to let everyone know I met with Gordon King, president of A1 CUSTOM GLOVE REPAIR recently and I endorse what he is providing to the baseball marketplace. Each and every year I get dozens of people that ask me about breaking in mitts and repairing mitts. Very seldom do I have answers for folks because doing what Gordon does is a dying breed in this country.

Gordon provides this service and is very genuine in his desire to help players and parents with any of these issues. Gordon will be at LOOKOUTS practice this Sunday from 4:30-6:30 at the KSU field house. Stop over and see him if you have any questions for him or just to say hello to him.
