We purchased an older Rawlings, red & blue glove with the hopes of redoing it for my son to use in High School. Gordon did a great job in restoring and reconditioning the glove. Replacing all of the strings with matching red strings and installing a new lining with additional padding. It looks like a new glove, but already broke in. The glove turned out great. My son is very happy with it!
Thank you for your help.

I had my son's mitt restrung and reconditioned. He loves it! He needed a new mitt but didn't want to part with his old one.
Great job!

Gordon completely redid my childhood baseball glove last year. I'm talking almost the whole glove, even the inside. It was all rotted before, now I am able to play with it as I coach my 2 young sons in little league. I loved his work so much I gave him my Dad's old green glove and catcher's mitt as well. He did a wonderful job re-lacing and doing some general conditioning as well.
Gordon will go above and beyond for you in whatever you want done, he knows about the animals that produce the products that he uses on gloves, just ask him anything about your glove. I met Gordon at the Legends Softball Tournament in Dayton Ohio. He is one of the nicest guys I have met and his enthusiasm goes not only into the glove but into you as well.
HE GENUINELY CARES about how you feel about the glove!! He even got with Rawlings and got new emblems for me and attached them to the glove. I'm thrilled to be playing with my childhood glove again! His prices are the lowest around! Thanks G!

I want to let everyone know about my experience with A1 Glove Repair, and the Owner, Gordon C. King. He was very knowledgeable about leather and baseball gloves, without question. My glove repair situation was probably different than most, as I am a US Military veteran who lost his left index finger in action. I am unable to reveal my name or where/how I lost my finger, as it is considered a matter of National Security.
I went to see Gordon about how to make my glove usable, in spite of my missing finger. Gordon went to a hospital and acquired a prosthetic index finger that was the size and weight of a normal human finger. Next, he sewed the finger to a weight lifting glove (without finger tips) then used a special glue to ensure it would stay attached to the glove. As Gordon explained it to me, his scientific concept was that when I would wear the weight lifting glove, like a batting glove, with the added finger in my fielding glove, the movement of my hand and other fingers would voluntarily help the index finger of the glove close. Although, I cannot feel that finger, his concept works way better than it did before he created the solution. I truly believe that there is no baseball glove problem that Gordon cannot solve.

We had been referred to Gordon by another softball parent from our tournament team and we then contacted Gordon. We had to have our daughter's glove restrung because one of the leather strings had broken. We met with Gordon and he was very helpful and seemed to know what he was talking about for repairing a glove. We found out that he did know what he was talking about and did a tremendous job in repairing our daughter's glove.
His pricing was very reasonable and fair too! Then I showed him my glove, which was over 30 years old and he said he could replace all the strings and soften and make the glove look like new. I was a little uncertain but gave him my glove to do the work. When I received it back, it looked like new and I was very happy! I still use that old glove, now like new, in playing catch with my daughter and in warm ups for tournaments. Gordon did a great job in the repairs and was reasonably priced.
I would recommend him to anyone!

I personally met Gordon King this summer at my little sister's Explosive Softball tournament in Strongsville, Ohio. I luckily had my very worn/broken Nokona glove with me that day. I've had the glove since I started high school so the glove is close to 10 years old with 4 years of High school and 8 years of Summer and Fall ball behind it. Anyways, the strings started to snap on it this summer while playing. I easily had to get the whole glove restrung. Mr. King assured me that my glove would be as good as new when he was done with it. I left the glove with him that day and it was returned to me before I left the tournament the next day. The glove looked and felt absolutely great! I feel this glove will last me last me another 10 years. I would like to thank you again! I will be using A-1 for any and all my glove repairs in the future. I would highly recommend anyone who needs their glove repaired to use A1 Glove Repair.

My son plays competitive travel baseball in the summer and the strings on his favorite glove broke. He used his back-up glove, but it wasn't the same. The season ended, and my intention was to get his glove fixed so it would be ready for the off-season workouts. However, he got asked to play in a tournament and I hadn't gotten his glove fixed yet. I found Gordon King online and I gave him a call. I explained to Gordon that I needed the glove ASAP. Gordon did a fantastic job repairing the glove and I had the glove the very next day. I will definitely use him in the future if needed!

I found a wonderful softball glove at a garage sale that had no strings. The glove was in 4 or 5 pieces. Gordon assured me that he would make it look brand new. Not only was Gordon able to color coordinate the strings he also reconditioned the leather with his own conditioning formula. Net result was that the glove looked brand new just as Gordon said. I also had an older glove that was weathered beyond belief that Gordon was able to recondition. Now I have a more than an adequate back-up glove. I would definitely use A-1 Glove repair again and would highly reccomend this service to anyone that wants a professional high quality glove repair.

My daughter averages over 100 games of softball each year and she loves her Wilson catchers glove that she has had for 3 years. We thought we can get through the 2014 summer season with no problems, but when the strings broke in the middle of the busiest time of her schedule, Mr. Gordon King came through the same day I called him. I dropped it off and he had it repaired in 24 hours. He did a GREAT job with it and provided GREAT service!

Gordon did a fantastic job at fixing my son's glove that was less than a year old, and our dog had gotten a hold of it! With the pocket destroyed, I thought we would be purchasing another glove. Within one day of my call, Gordon had a new Wilson pocket and my son's mitt was in the mail. Less than a week in total we had the glove back and it looked brand new!

Gordon, you did a great job with the padding and conditioning on my glove. The glove looks great and gets a lot of compliments for being 40+ years old. I can now catch my nephews 60 mph fast ball pain free. Thanks, you are the best!

Gordon helped us out in a pinch for a second time. I got a call from my husband because my son's coach had come over with his catcher's mitt and showed him where in the webbing a string had broken and there was a hole. I called Gordon and told him what was wrong. Gordon met up with my husband that afternoon and he had the glove ready for my son the next morning in time for his game that day. He went out of his way to get it done overnight so that it would be ready. It isn't that often that you get that kind of service anymore. He was even nice enough to find a meeting spot in between our houses to keep it closer for us.
Thanks again Gordon!

This service was a Godsend. I am a US service member serving abroad and my glove strings broke in the middle of my softball season. Thanks goodness for Gordon and crew and this service. I was able to ship my glove to the states and get it back, repaired, before the end of season. There is virtually no where in Europe I could go to get my glove fixed. The price was fantastic, much less than buying a new glove, and I did not have the time to re-string it myself.
Thanks Gordon!

I contacted quite a few companies about glove repair. The only person that felt most comfortable working on my son's Primo first baseman's glove was Gordon. Being from Florida, Gordon took the time to talk to me via email and phone to make sure what he was going to do was going to work. Gordon and his glue made the repair, and it was then re-laced, oiled, and the glove looks great! My son just received a scholarship to play in college and now his glove will be able to accompany him for another 4 years.

I had two gloves re-strung and re-conditioned, both now look and feel great. Gordon took the time to meet with me and discuss the repairs and style of workmanship to be used prior to doing the work. He has a passion for quality work at a price better than anyone around! I highly recommend this company to anyone needing minor work or rescuing an old beloved glove. I will definitely use them in the future for all my glove repairs.

I have my dad's fifty-year old Wilson that was strung with shoestrings and the palm was very worn. Gordon restrung it, added a piece of Bison leather in the palm and oiled it. The glove looks and feels absolutely great!

My son has a Rawlings Pro Preferred glove that just felt stiff and didn't conform to his hand after 3 years of use. Gordon was able to modify the glove and now my son couldn't be happier. His masterful handy work saved me from having to purchase a new glove.

My 10 year old son had a catcher's mitt that he complained hurt the palm of his hand when the ball was pitched to him. We took a shot at checking whether anyone could do anything about it. I contacted Gordon and he had us come show him the glove. I found him EXTREMELY knowledgeable on everything to do with the glove. He was able to add padding to the palm of the glove and also removed some plastic pieces that were in the glove that were bothering his finger and making the glove less pliable. While we were there talking to him, we decided to have the plastic support pieces pulled out of my son's regular glove as well. Gordon even had them ready for his game the next day. My son has now played with them both and loves them. He even has his friends feel how much softer that they are now.
Thank you Gordon!

Gordon is a rare find this day and age. He restrings, reconditions, and repairs all gloves by hand at his home here in Cleveland for a very reasonable price.
Gordon is extremely knowledgeable about all makes and models of baseball/softball gloves. Within the first 2 minutes of meeting Gordon, he was able to tell me all sorts of information about the glove including where it was manufactured, what material it was made from, and other details about the condition of the glove. He also knew that my web (Rawlings Bellows web) was only made for one-year and the specific year it was made.
Gordon doesn't use the typical strings you buy from Rawlings or in a store, but rather straight from a leather company and then cuts them himself. This means higher quality material, lower costs, and much longer durability. Plus, they look beautiful!
I really cannot say enough about the experience. I was happy with the glove repair/restoration, the communication, and cost. Very rare find indeed.

I met Gordon King in the Summer of 2013 at a baseball tournament at Victory Park. He was able to repair a glove for one of my children in a very practical and functional way, I’d have never thought of. Additionally, he has broken in three gloves for my family in a way that makes them flexible & useful as soon as you receive them back. In my opinion, no one can duplicate his ability to break in a new glove in the two week time frame he asks for. He pays attention to detail and truly cares about his customer’s needs and concerns. I have found his knowledge of baseball gloves to be beyond compare. It is my sincere contention that Gordon is the only one to work on the baseball gloves in my family.

I was going to retire a nakona catchers glove that served me well over the years catching my pitcher daughters. I had worn a hole through the palm. I told Gordon about it and he offered to fix the hole with some buffalo skin, replace the padding, restring and condition the entire glove….all at a fraction of what a new one would cost. I was amazed at the results. Looks nearly new but fits like my old friend.

Gordon,
I got the glove yesterday and absolutely love it. I am more than impressed with the results. Way beyond my expectations. I would be happy to call you this weekend. I want to play around with it a bit first. I have it at work now for show and tell, with before pics and the end result. All are amazed and I may have you another client. Everyone gives it a good sniff. I wish i lived closer to you I would like to be your apprentice!! Thanks for an awesome job!! I will call you this weekend.

My name is Justin and I am a shortstop at the collegiate level. Over the fall, my glove began to come apart where the webbing attaches to the palm, and also began to tear down in the palm. I ordered a new glove, but in order to salvage the life for this season I went to Gordon King for help with the issue. Upon return, my glove is no longer tearing and has held up well over the past few weeks. It looks almost brand new. I highly recommend a restoration if you love an old glove. Gordon did a great job with mine.
