9/8/14 - Olympia (0) @ Sodus (1)

Yesterday we had a tough loss. We came out really strong in the first half with multiple scoring chances. In the 10^th minute we had our first corner kick. The ball was placed perfectly into the 18 by Mahn and Vedad had a great header that was saved by the keeper. In the 18^th minute Jackson played as an outside back and almost caught the goalie off guard as he ripped a shot from about 25 yards out. It hit the goalie in the hands and almost went through. Jeff Semple also had a great performance coming up with 4 shots on goal. He had two 1 v 0 chances as he beat their outside back and dribbled  to the near post. Unfortunately he shot each time wide in an attempt to go near post.  Going into half the score was 0-0. The second half saw some more scoring opportunities. In the 18^th minute Jackson dribbled the ball into the 18 took a shot that hit the post and rebounded out with no one covering the back post. Leading the shots in the second half was Brandon and Angel. Brandon had a beautiful cut in the 25^th minute that lead to a hard shot that was saved by the keeper. Both players had 3 shots in the second half. The Spartans played a physical game. In the 35^th minute after an injury occurred Joey took a goal kick that came out to Sodus, caught off guard our defense was out of position and Sodus took advantage. Their forward trapped the ball just outside  the 18 took a touch then shot the ball to the left post just outside of Joeys reach. Joey played an excellent game coming up with 10 saves. The final score was Sodus 1 Olympia 0.
