The first thing that any potential client needs to know about Gordon King is his passion for his work. He is filled with enthusiasm. Without a doubt, he is a glove repair expert and truly cares about his customers. If you are on the fence about repairing or reconditioning a glove, to me, the experience of playing with a glove that I have had for years that Gordon worked his magic on and made better than new beats any glove that I was going to pull off the rack at a sporting goods store. I am repeat customer and am happy to tell anybody that I play softball with or meet coaching travel baseball about Gordon. He is the best!

Gordon was very fast in getting the heel of my glove restrung in 2 days and when looking it over found a break in the webbing and restrung the web for only a few bucks extra. Very good work. In a very fast time.

Gordon has repaired several baseball gloves for me from SSK, Wilson, Rawlings, Mizuno and Nokona all high quality pro model gloves and some over 20 years old. He brought them back to life and made them game ready. My son uses all these gloves till this day. Gordon took the time to meet with me and discuss the repairs and style of workmanship to be used prior to doing the work. He has a passion for quality work. Gordon doesn't use the typical strings you buy from Rawlings or in a store, but rather straight from a leather company and then cuts them himself. This means higher quality material, and much longer durability. I have told several friends about the excellent work Gordon does at a very affordable price. I will continue to recommend Gordon to anyone who may be in need of this special service.

Gordon King and A1 Glove Repair have been very helpful in fixing and maintaining my sons baseball gear. As with many sports, a player likes a certain feel or condition of their glove. Riley has tried many different gloves but always comes back to the same one, Gordon restores it to game shape each and every year!

Gordon personally restringed my softball glove after several years of wear and tear for a very reasonable price. He used a custom colored blue leather which he cut and dyed himself which looked amazing. He also reconditioned the glove to help preserve the leather. Overall, Gordon is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable when it comes to glove repair!
I would highly recommend his services!

Three days before my daughters rec-ball playoffs she broke the strings on her glove. I found on the internet "A1 Glove Repair", a local business, and called and left a message. Gordon King returned my call immediately, and had me drop off the glove for an estimate and repair. Mr. King had the glove restrung in time for the game, and did an excellent job. During the game I received a follow up call, making sure the job was satisfactory. Since then, two more gloves have been reconditioned by Mr. King. I would highly recommend A1 Glove Repair to anyone I know.

I had my son's glove repaired by Gordon. Gordon is fantastic! He had our glove done when we needed it and the price was great. There were no surprises, which I appreciated. I will definitely go back if another glove needs repair or when we need to purchase another glove.

A1 Glove Repair exceeded expectations when reconditioning and repairing my 1988 Rawlings "Keith Hernandez" first baseman’s mitt. The glove was in rough shape, having been used nearly every year since the late 80’s for both baseball and softball. Gordon was able to restore the leather to above average condition (no small feat) and did a brilliant job custom cutting and dying the new laces. The final product was more than I imagined – especially at his reasonable prices. I definitely recommend his service.

Very quick turn around time. My son needed his catcher's glove reconditioned and restrung within a short time to be ready for the Senior Babe Ruth World Series. Gordon and his wife were very attentive to our needs and communicated with me almost daily.

The service was amazing! I needed my glove repaired asap for a college visit and he had it done within the next two days and now my glove is perfect! He polished it so it looks brand new and he explained everything that he did so well along with using better quality string to restring my glove. I highly recommend going to A1 Glove Repair!

My glove was in pretty bad shape when I brought it in. It had seen heavy use for about 15 years. The leather strings had broken and fallen out, so I'd been holding my glove together with plastic zip ties. My friend referred me to A1 Glove Repair and Sales, so I figured I would give it a try. When I got my glove back I did not recognize it! Gone were the zip ties and weathered leather. It looked as though I was getting back a brand new glove!! The quality of the repair was beyond my expectations, and the price was only $35! I wish I would have taken my glove to A1 years ago.

Gordon re-strung and re-conditioned my mitt that had been ripped to pieces after years of use. He took out all the uncomfortable plastic and re-formed my grip. Gordon also re-strung my mitt with blue and yellow laces to match my college team next year and has my mitt back to playing condition!

I had two gloves reconditioned. The first was a Wilson in poor condition and the other,a MacGregor, in worse condition. Both are around 40 years old. I was thinking of just tossing them in the trash when I heard about A1GloveRepair. I doubted they could be reconditioned especially the MacGregor. The hand area leather was dried out and ripped apart but Gordon was able to put a new piece of leather in the glove. Both gloves came out great. I highly recommend their services!

I recently sent in my 10 year old Nokona Kangaroo skin fastpitch softball catcher's mitt to Mr. King for relacing and re-conditioning. It is a glove I have loved using the entire time my daughter has been pitching. She is now about to begin her last year of collegiate eligibility, and I will miss it greatly. I was thoroughly impressed with the care and craftsmanship he displayed in the refurbish. The glove was the original blonde color when I shipped it off. He took the time to ask me if i wanted it back the original color or the more traditional "tanned leather" color. I opted for the traditional color and it looks and smells phenomenal.
I have already shared Mr. King's information with one of the high school softball coaches. I also plan to send him my daughter's first real select travel ball glove I dug out of the shed the other day. It is an Akadema infielder's glove that is black and has mildew on it. It is completely lifeless. I doubt it will be a challenge for him but We will see!

Let me tell you something about Gordon King from A1 glove repair. Sure, he has the knowledge, far more knowledge about baseball gloves than I ever imagined there to be, and the skills and problem solving to go along with that knowledge, but the most impressive thing is his passion, the passion for restoring old gloves, restringing and repair of worn out or damaged gloves, and the proper break-in process he uses on new gloves. His customer service is second to none and I encourage anyone in need of service to his or her glove to get it to Gordon King. You will not be disappointed. He has always come through for me and others that I have referred to him.

I always tell our coaches and players about the incredible work that Gordon performs on gloves. I have personal experience as he repaired two old gloves that I used that now my son uses. He also conditioned and broke in a new catcher's mitt that now works great!

Top shelf workmanship and knowledge! Gordon is a true master at his craft. Our daughter plays 14U tournaments at short and catcher. Her favorite infield glove needed some TLC and restringing and her new catcher's mitt needed breaking in and softening. Both were completed in a short time as promised. She will get a couple more years out of her beloved infield glove and her catcher's mitt is pliable and perfect. All at a VERY reasonable cost. If you have a few moments spend some time conversing with Gordon. He has exceptional knowledge about all types of ball gloves from his years of experience.

Gordon re-strung and repaired a hole in my glove that ripped from years and years of use. I was certain I was going to have to purchase a new glove, but he totally refurbished the mitt, and it's better than ever. Gordon is a gentleman, is easy to work with, and is certainly a true professional in glove repair and revitalization.
It was a pleasure to work with him, and his repair costs are VERY reasonable. I will definitely go to Gordon for any future needs, and I have been telling my friends about his unique services.
Thank you Gordon!

After over 20 years I decided to again play softball in a 55 and over league. I went out and bought a nice new glove knowing that the glove I used for a good 10 years of premier softball was drying up in my closet. The new glove took time to break in, was more than functional, but I still missed the old glove with its dried up strings and full of field dust.
I then saw the "A-1 Glove Repair" website and called Gordon and confirmed a meeting time. I was not only impressed with his knowledge and history of the game of baseball/softball, but also the recognition of different leathers, glove oils, and the overall rebuild. I was shown high grade leather of various colors for re-stringing, made my choice and picked up my glove 4 days later. Wow, my old glove was transformed from an ugly piece of cowhide, to a well oiled rejuvenated beauty. Gordon knows baseball glove reconditioning, period!
I want to thank Gordon for a job well done and I highly recommend his work!

My son broke his first baseman’s glove at practice on a Tuesday night and he had a game on Thursday. That night I searched for “glove repair” and emailed Algloverepair@cox.net and within minutes I received an email saying bring it in. My wife and son took two gloves to Gordon the following day and he repaired and conditioned both gloves in one day! Unbelievable turnaround and quality of work. In addition, free friendly delivery, as he met me close to my office. I will take both gloves to Gordon on an annual basis to repair & restore.
Thank you Gordon, awesome job!

I would not consider anyone but A1Glove Repair. My son's strings on his mitt broke twice the day of the game. However, Gordon came through in a timely fashion and saved the day by fixing the problem within only a few hours notice. Our mitts have never looked and worked better since I have been taking them to A1. Gordon and his wife deliver great service and are truly masters at what they do. In a time where trust and hard work are hard to find, it is refreshing to know those values still exist at A1. I will continue to recommend A1 to all my friends and family for their baseball equipment needs.

Gordon did a great job repairing my son's 1st base glove. He had his glove since he was 12 years old, and now is a freshman in college. We thought his glove was past any repair that could be done. The pocket and webbing was tore out plus he had a big hole in the back of the glove. All the padding and support in the glove was broken down. Gordon was able to repair all the issues with the glove at a third of the price that a new glove would cost.
Great job!

When I first saw my reconditioned glove I almost told gordon it was not mine. I could not believe how good it looked! He made my 37 year old Ron LeFlore baseball mitt look brand new again. My son's glove was in need of some tightening at the start of this season. Thankfully his organization had an opening day party that Mr. & Mrs. King also attended. Gordon quickly accessed the issue, fixed it, and then added my son's team color string into the middle of his glove. Not just to have the coolest glove on the team but to further avoid the loosening of his glove again!
Gordon is awesome! Be sure to grab a chair while he's fixing your gloves his stories are awesome as well. 100000% recommend ANY glove repair, breaking in, restringing be done by Gordon King at A1 Glove Repair.

Sent Gordon my 30 year old glove that I was still using that needed some attention. I figured I still liked this glove and if it could be tuned up I would prefer that rather than getting a new glove. After receiving my glove back I can say Gordon does excellent work at a more than fair price.

Gordon did some work on my son's first baseman's glove. He tightened some stitching, put some new padding in the palm and cleaned and conditioned the leather. He got the glove back to us quickly and my son was very happy with the way the glove felt. Price was very reasonable. Very satisfied and will use A1 again!

I bought a Wilson A2000 baseball glove on eBay described as "game ready condition". Needless to say the glove arrived looking like it had been under a pile of bricks for 10 years. I decided to call Gordon to see if he could work some magic and restore this glove. When I went to pick the glove up I was amazed to see it had been reformed, relaced and brought to the original color. It was so nice when I picked it up I hardly recognized it. My son is using it as his everyday glove and he loves it! The whole process saved me a ton of money. Gordon is a miracle worker. Don't even hesitate taking him any of your gloves.

I was desperate to find a reasonable solution for the worn out lacing on my beloved old college Wilson A2000 that has become a hand-me-down to my daughter for her travel softball league. I was weary to put this piece of my history in the hands of someone I didn't know, and considered trying to repair the glove myself. After much deliberation I gave A1 Glove Repair a call and had a meeting with owner Gordon King. After a presentation of the history of the company and his personal expertise, I was convinced that this was the way to go. The service was timely despite their busy schedule in the springtime season. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the custom cut laces and reconditioning of this 15 year old glove with tons of mileage over the years. The glove is now like new, only broken in like a gem. I only wish I had contacted Gordon sooner. I recommend this service to anyone who wants things done right! Thanks again, A1 Glove Repair!

Thanks again for the great work on my two Rawlings gloves. Of special note, the Rawlings Joe Rudy fielders glove looks better than I ever remember. I got the glove on my 8th birthday at Kmart (back when Kmart was our local sporting goods store). You are clearly a craftsman, and the work you do is an art form in every way. I look forward to my two sons getting a chance to play with a glove with some real history. I waited a long time to have these two gloves reworked, and I am glad I got your name as an option.
I will tell everyone I know, that you are the only option for glove work in Northeast Ohio.

Great guy, great service! I took 5 gloves to Gordon at the end of the 2014 season for re-stringing, tightening and conditioning. My son had a catcher's glove for many years. The seam around the pocket had come apart. I was having a horrible time finding someone in Central Wisconsin to fix it. Then I found A1 Glove Repair! I had submitted an inquiry and within a very short time, I received a phone call from Gordon. He assured me he could do the job, and I mailed the glove to him that same day. I was very concerned as it was over the holidays and my son had tryouts on the 4th of January. Gordon kept me in the loop the entire time from receipt of the glove, the repair, and shipping it back. My son is very pleased with the work that Gordon did. I am so impressed with the customer service he provided. I would recommend Gordon to anyone in need for a great repair on any kind of glove!
