Gordon King is a wizard with glove refurbs. Sent along my old catcher's mitt that was last used in the late 80's and that had a broken webbing and was cracked in places. The visuals say it all. Gordon did an excellent job bringing it back to life and I'm super pleased with his craftsmanship. Trust him to do the same for yours.

Thank you kindly Gordon!

Gordon King did an amazing job of repairing my daughter's glove. He added leather to the inside of the glove and addiitonal padding and also let my daughter pick the colors she wanted in her glove. She loves it's

I am so grateful to have found A1 Glove Repair when my son's baseball glove broke a string. The service was fast and the price was extremely fair. It's obvious that the owner takes great pride in his work and his experience shows in the final product. My son is thrilled with the repair and so am I.

Thanks A1!

Gordon has repaired two gloves for me. One that I use and one for my brother. Gordon was very professional during all the times I talked to him making me feel comfortable and assured that our gloves were in good hands. He repaired my glove at a tournament he happened to be working at and it was restrung in under 30 minutes. When he finished, it felt like a new glove and it has ever since (over 2 years ago).
For my brother's repair, he graciously met me a midpoint between his house and mine and we exchanged the mitt. In just a week later, the mitt was repaired and used with excellent results. Gordon is fair and honest. He does tremendous work and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a mitt repaired.

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

I have used A1 three times now on different gloves. From reconditioning gloves used in the 80's and 90's in high school and college, to breaking in brand new gloves, to reconditioning my son's gloves (3) after each season. I have NEVER been disappointed in the work when they were returned. Very reasonable pricing. When you invest money into a high quality glove, you should invest in keeping them in great shape! Gordon is outstanding!

I just read your story on the local news and felt a need to "Thank You" for your kindness to our troops. It's nice to see a positive local news story. Many have forgotten that we are still at war and they don't speak as much about the guys that are sacrificing a normal daily life, as we have in this wonderful country. What you are doing is bringing a little piece of home to some of the worst places in the world. I'm sure there are many laughs and good times between the soldiers while playing out there on that sand. My husband is currently deployed so I can truly appreciate what you are doing. God bless!

Mr. Gordon and his wife are two very genuinely nice people. I enjoyed speaking with them and learning the history of their business and products. They restored my glove that I purchased 12 years ago. Gordon reconditioned, re-laced, and added some padding to the pocket. I'm very pleased with my finished product. My glove looks and feels like new!

I took to the internet when the wrist strap on my favorite 15 year old ball glove broke on me right at the end of my summer softball season. I only had a week until my fall season started, so I needed to find someone to fix my glove. Not realizing there was a "guy" for that, I stumbled across this website, found numerous positive testimonials, and I contacted Gordon. He was awesome about dropping off my glove. He fixed the strap, tightened up the opening to my glove, relaced and reconditioned it for sufficiently less than the cost of a new glove! When I picked my glove up I could hardly believe it was the same glove I had given him the week before! It has been a few weeks and I have absolutely no complaints now that I have my glove worked back in. My glove is better than new because it is now basically custom fit! Now the glove that was once a bet/bribe from my dad when I was 15, and took me to a fast pitch world series, can hopefully last until my retirement!

Gordon was able to fit in our glove repair in less than 3 days. I was going through my son's baseball gear in preparation for his upcoming tryouts. I noticed that the web was split in two areas within the lacing. I called Gordon and within a few days he restrung the entire glove with hand-cut string. This new string is much stronger and tougher than the stock lacing. When I returned to pick up the glove, it not only looked new but gave my son the confidence in tryouts with his faithful original. I can't thank Gordon enough for his professionalism, quick turnaround, solid workmanship and overall competitive pricing. We will be using A1 for future repairs, new break ins, etc...

My daughter has played with a Nike softball glove for a few years. The lining started to deteriorate and balled up inside the glove, so I offered to buy her a new one. She wanted to keep playing with this one even though I couldn't get it repaired locally. Gordon was willing to take on the repair even though it was quite out of the ordinary. We received the glove back in great condition and will call on Gordon for future repairs.

I found Gordon thru his website and was ecstatic that he could possibly fix my daughter's $300 catchers glove. It was already 2 years old and she didn't want to break in a new one for college. Gordon repaired her glove in just a few days and it looks like brand new! My daughter was so pleased with his work. His prices are extremely reasonable and his work is very high quality.

He knows his gloves! Will definitely use Gordon King again.

Gordon masterfully reconditioned my 35-year-old childhood baseball glove to a like-new working condition inside and out. In doing so, he preserved a family heirloom that will be not only passed on, but actually used and enjoyed for generations to come. Best of all, you can't mistake that Gordon loves what he's doing and treats each glove project with expertise, commitment and passion.

The result and experience were worth every penny!

Gordon sold us a glove for my daughter, conditioned and prepared the glove and made some modifications to the glove that enabled her to use it the very next weekend. Oh, and the most important part is that he invited us into his home on a holiday to do it.

Thanks again Gordon!

This past spring, I stumbled across Gordon's business contact after taking my son to the Brecksville batting cages. His business card was posted on the board. My son and I both had baseball/softball mitts that needed to be reconditioned and repaired. My mitt was an old 1990s Steele brand softball mitt that was in dire need of conditioning and re-stringing. My son's mitt was a 2-year old Wilson outfielders mitt that needed to be re-strung. Gordon did an excellent job with both mitts. My son was quite pleased with his mitt during the summer recreational baseball league play and my Steele's mitt feels and looks like it did back in the early 1990's when I purchased it.

Gordon is quite a character and has an ever growing business. I was grateful for the time that he devoted to repairing both mitts. After talking with Gordon, seeing how busy he is with repairs, and enjoying conversation with him, I would certainly recommend his services to anyone wishing to repair a treasured glove.

Gordon, I just wanted to thank you for the high quality repairs you did to Charlie's catcher gloves. His old one with the new stitching and the reconditioning of the leather made it look and feel as it was new. His new glove was stiff and hard to use. Your new glove treatment and your method of breaking in a new glove made it easy to use and ready for action on day one.

Thank you!

I mailed my glove to A1 hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. My Wilson A2000 has been around for 35 years and I really didn't have much use for it the last 15 years. Immediately, I received an e-mail from Gordon letting me know that my glove was in his possession and the steps he was going to take to bring it back to working condition.

Gordon really does treat each glove like his own, I couldn't believe the steps he was going through to bring my glove back to life. He seems to have all of the materials needed at his fingertips and he used them masterfully with my glove. It was returned to me in a timely fashion and it looks and feels great! I loved the compliments I received from fellow coaches in their 40's and 50's who remember this classic glove. The work held up great over the summer and will last a long time.

Being able to use this glove again was priceless, so any cost would have been worth it, but the price I paid was more than fair.

What a great value!

As usual, Gordon has done an amazing job on my son's glove. He strengthened and reinforced his first basemen's glove after several seasons of use. It now provides him the new glove function while still having the familiar broken in feel. We will be coming back to get his next glove done for high school.

Thanks for the great service!

On Memorial Day, my son was playing catcher in a weekend tournament game. Half way through the game, the lacing in his catchers glove broke free making the glove unusable. As the game continued, I searched "baseball glove repair" on Google and "A1 Glove Repair" popped up. I called them immediately and spoke to Gordon. After the game, I dropped the glove off for repair. Amazingly, it was ready for pick-up the next day. The glove was clean as new and nicely restrung with thicker lacing, the cost was very reasonable, much less than buying a new glove, and I couldn't have asked for better service and quality workmanship.

Having checked several different websites to restring my sons catchers mitts, I sent them to A1 Glove Repair. I sent the mitts, a money order to pay for the work and a prepaid shipping label for their return. I was a little concerned as A1 Glove Repair is quite a distance from us. I received a call from Mr. King when the gloves arrived and he assured me they would be back to me in time for our tourney. Later that week i received a second call. The company my prepaid label was for, would not deliver on Monday, we were leaving on Tuesday and Mr. King was worried they wouldn't be delivered on time! He shipped the gloves via a different company. They arrived Monday evening. They looked great!! More importantly both mitts worked well. My son is happy with the feel and look and I am extremely happy with the work and concern of Mr. King! The new strings are thicker and stronger than the originals. I am very happy with the work and will return if there is a need.

Thanks Mr. King!

After 6 years of High School, Summer Travel and now College baseball my sons Rawlings Pro Preferred glove was looking worn and needing a broken lace replaced. What Gordon did with glove is absolutely amazing. It was returned to us looking like it did when new. Color was restored, fully restrung, and conditioned. My son is a middle infielder and cannot thank Gordon enough for explaining and making the modifications to the thumb and pinky fingers on the glove making it even softer and more flexible. (You need to ask him about this) Gordon is craftsman when it comes to glove repair and I highly recommend his services. We will be back yearly for a glove check up and conditioning!

I'm a college catcher whose glove sees a lot of abuse and unfortunately needed Gordon's help in re-lacing a part of my Wilson A2000 custom catchers mitt. Fortunately, he saw the problem and said he could do it no problem and to give him a week. A week goes by and I come to get my glove and I almost had to do a double take of it. I noticed he did more than fix the busted lace and beaten web. He used the new lace on the busted parts and re-strung the entire glove. The areas that needed fixing got an extra overhaul by working the whole glove to make these weak points stronger than when they were new. The lacing he used was extremely high quality, surpassing that of what was on there, which was already top tier lace. My glove is the most important piece of equipment I own and Gordon surpassed expectations. I would recommend Gordon to all ball players from youth to professionals. I thank Gordon for making my glove perfect once again.

Gordon did a fantastic job on my A3000 glove. Before, it wasn't even remotely usable and couldn't open. After he was done with it, I was greatly surprised at how game ready it became. I will undoubtedly use Gordon again for any future services and have already recommended him to all of my baseball/softball friends!

Thanks so much! My son was truly experiencing separation issues with his high school glove. After 20+ years, it looked like you might imagine a glove to look. It had torn laces, a partially torn wrist strap, and holes inside the fingers. It was pretty much unusable even for playing catch. But he loved the glove (it was broken in beautifully) and didn't particularly want to pay the high price required for a quality new glove. You came to the rescue. I brought his glove home with me after visiting my son in South Carolina. In a day and a half you were able to renew his love affair with his high school sweetheart. And just 50 bucks.

I'm writing to say thanks for your help last week. My fourteen year old son plays first base and was in a pinch last week when the web lacing broke. Naturally, in the middle of baseball season, with so many games per week, the glove needed to be repaired right away. I appreciate that you took the time to meet me right away and had the glove fixed as good as new by the next day, and for a reasonable price. We'll look you up when we need new mitts, or any other repairs.

Great job and thank you again!

I found Gordon searching online for somewhere to get my glove revived and I got more than I could ask for. He and his wife invited me into their home and were very welcoming and happy to do business for me. This guy loves what he does with a passion, that much I knew after the first 5 minutes of meeting him. Thanks for the clean up job Gordon, I couldn't be happier with how new and revived my glove is looking. I have already passed on the word to others what great work you do and what good people you and your wife are.

Thank you for the time and effort you put into fixing my glove up. The glove had given me about 9-10 good years before, and now I'm sure it's going to give me at least 9-10 more good years.

A few of the guys on my team asked about my glove when it was out for repair and are amazed by the work you did when they saw the finished product. As a few need some glove repair work themselves, I'll be sure to send them your way - don't be surprised if you see an influx of gloves from Maryland. You're the real deal!

I got a top of the line Rawlings Griffey model Trapeze mitt for my 21st birthday. I played 4/5 nights a week back then. My mitt has been with me every step of the way. It needed some new strings and could use a little padding as well. I had it restrung at Play it Again Sports and the job they did was disappointing. In less than a year the fingers were separating and the glove looked terrible. I got in touch with A1 (Gordon King) and we had a lengthy conversation about what I needed and what he was able to do. Gordon showed me his love for what he does during our conversation. My glove is 19 years old this summer (6/2016) and she looks almost brand new. Gordon restrung her, re-padded her, and shined her up. A1 is affordable and worth every penny spent. This is the best mitt I have ever owned, and thanks to Gordon and his wife Joyce, I can hopefully get 19 more years out of it.

Thank you Gordon and Joyce for your knowledge, hard work, and commitment to excellence.

Took the first glove my father bought me as a child around 1950. It had tremendous wear and tear. Had I known Gordon was going to do such a phenomenal job restoring it, I would have taken "before" pictures. He was a 1st class professional and over delivered on his promise to do what he could to make it look as original as possible. We took one glove to Gordon for breaking in and another for a repair. Gordon was prompt, very fairly priced and the work was professional and exceptional. We were welcomed into his home from the very first moment. You can tell that he is not in it for the money, as he is very passionate about what he does and genuinely loves it. In talking to Gordon about gloves what became very clear is that he does a lot more than breaking in gloves and new strings. He is simply a master craftsman with gloves and you might not find another person to make the repairs that he does. He does VERY complex repairs and even full reconstructions. If you need any kind of glove repair you need not go anywhere else. I would confidently recommend Gordon to anyone. While you are there don't forget to ask him about "Bo".

I met Gordon in Nashville at a baseball convention. We talked about baseball for about an hour. I got back to practice and one of my middle infielder's dog got a hold of his A2K that he just purchased, and the dog ate the web and strings around the glove. I called Gordon and he said send it up to him and let him see what he could do. He had the glove about 2 weeks and even put on a different style of webbing and string that the player wanted. The glove is great and I will send everyone that asks me about glove repair to A1 Glove Repair.

My 30 year old A2000 was in bad shape. Broken strings and fading leather. The sporting goods store said it was a lost cause. But Mr. Gordon brought the glove back to looking and feeling brand new! Great job at a reasonable price! He loves his work and is a very interesting man. Many thanks!

Just wanted to thank Gordon for repairing my son Nick's glove. Two weeks before his High School baseball season our dog grabbed it out of his room and damaged it to what we thought was beyond repair. We purchased a new glove but Nick begged me to see if we could get it fixed. I contacted several places and everyone stated that the price to fix the glove was more than the price of a new glove.

Gordon gave me a fair price and restored Nick's glove to what we felt was actually better than when we bought it. Gordon replaced the web, the pointer finger, restrung, replaced the palm and treated the leather. Some repairs were above what we agreed to and when it appeared there were issues with the delivery, he drove to the postal service to verify its location.

Gordon is in this for more than the money. He understands how important a glove is to a player. I am a coach and when I show the glove to people they are amazed. Nick and I recommend Gordon's service to anyone.

My son is a sophomore on his high school baseball team. During preseason practices the web of his catchers mitt broke. A friend of mine referred me to Gordon King. Gordon and his wife graciously welcomed me into their house on a Saturday afternoon and repaired the glove while I waited. No where else will you get that kind of immediate service. Gordon is so knowledgeable on gloves and will go to great effort to ensure a happy customer. I even feel he has more knowledge than the manufacturers themselves!! After replacing sections of the laces on my 40 year old ball glove, I decided to have it done right. Gordon relaced my entire glove, reconditioned the leather, and sewed in new leather on the inside hand area of my glove. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my "new" glove. Except for some leather deterioration on the back hand strap, the glove looks and feels incredible. I would highly recommend Gordon King and A1 Glove Repair. Gordon redid my catcher's mitt and it was some of the best work I have ever seen done on a catcher's mitt. I was highly impressed by the skill he used on my mitt. A few months ago I was looking for someone who could soften a new glove that I had. A friend had just taken his glove to be restrung to Gordon and was extremely pleased with his work. After talking with Gordon for a few hours about baseball, gloves and leather, I left my new glove and another one to be worked on by Gordon. I was very happy with both gloves so much so that I gave Gordon my father's glove from the 1930s to be worked on. Once again I was pleased with the work Gordon did. With Gordon's abilities and knowledge of leather he should be called Doctor Gordon King.

Gordon did a great job on two of my gloves!

A childhood glove that I grew up with was pretty old and beat up. Gordon customized and restored the glove and made it look and feel better than if it were brand new. The other glove, which is now 17 years old needed restrung and reconditioned. This glove had some work done about 16 yrs ago as a dog got a hold of it. This is the glove that I've used all throughout high school, college, and post college. I still play in a fastpitch summer league, so this glove is still very important to me.
Gordon reconditioned the leather and seriously made it look about 10-12 years newer. He then restrung it and made it feel like a brand new glove. Oh, and the prices are outstanding. I immediately told Gordon give me business cards because everyone on my team will be getting them and anyone else I come across.

Will deal with again of course!
