From all of the past players, coaches, staff, volunteers, parents, family and friends... a special "THANK YOU" goes out to Head Coach Mike Fryrear as he is retiring from the baseball program after 12 seasons as the Raiders skipper! Coach Fryrear finished his career at PCHS as the longest tenured coach and had the most Wins in program history with a 173-113 record. Highlights of his career include at least 40 or more of his past Raiders baseball players who have went on to either play college baseball or college football after graduation. His team made the regional playoffs 5x, including the 2019 team (30-2 record) that won the 2018 Steinbrenner Wood Bat Classic Tournament, 2019 Saladino Championship, and each of the Class 8A District 6, 8A Region 2 and 8A Florida State Championships. Coach Fryrear was awarded with the 2019 Hillsborough Co. All-Western Conference Federal Division Coach of the Year, 2019 Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Class 6A-15 Coach of the Year, 2019 Tampa Bay Times All-Hillsborough County Team and All-Tampa Bay Team Coach of the Year, 2019 All-813Preps High School Baseball Team Coach of the Year, 2019 Florida Dairy Farmers H.S. Baseball Class 8A Coach of the Year as well as the Overall Coach of the Year, and named the 2022 Artie Vazquez Memorial Coaches Award Presented by the West Coast Umpires Association. The improvements and positive impact that Coach Fryrear left on the school, the baseball program and the lives of all his players were truly greatly appreciated and will be remembered forever! Thank you for everything coach and good luck in your much deserved retirement!
