I highly recommend Gordon and his glove repair expertise. My son needed to break in a new catcher's mitt and add a wrist guard and we're very pleased with Gordon's work. Gordon is extremely knowledgeable about all-things gloves and glove repair. Plus, he's very personable and we enjoyed talking to him about baseball. His prices are reasonable, especially since he's the only person around this area who offers this service.

I was able to drop my son's glove off on a Monday and the Glove was ready on Tuesday. Gordan did a great job. The glove was like new when we got it back. I would not hesitate to recommend A1 Glove Repair to anyone.

I am so lucky that Gordon was referred to me by a friend. He has since repaired at least 3 of my daughter's gloves, and the turnaround has been so quick! I recommended him to my friends and already two have taken their gloves to him and raved about the workmanship.
Gordon takes the time to explain how he will fix it and the cost. The only surprise is how nice it turns out and how much better and stronger he makes the glove.

Gordon worked magic on my glove. I sent it to him to simply repair a string that broke in the trapeze web. He fully replaced all of the strings and treated the leather. It was almost unrecognizable when I picked it up. I almost questioned if it was mine until I put my hand inside it. I have so many memories with this glove from seeing it for the first time on Christmas morning to using it all through college, winning a senior men's National Championship with it, and now coaching and playing catch with my boys.

My son had a lace break on the webbing of his catcher’s glove. We called several big box stores to see if they did repairs. They did not. We found A1 Glove Repair online and called. Gordon answered and was extremely helpful in answering questions over the phone. We took the glove over and he took the time to explain how he would do the re-lacing, which was slightly different than the original. We got the glove back in a few days and it was just beautifully done. The rawhide he used is wider and thicker than the original (he cuts and dyes his own). The glove itself had been cleaned as well. Would highly recommend you talk to Gordon when you need a glove repair.

My son broke the lacing on his glove that goes over the back of his hand in the fall of 2021. I looked for any places that relace gloves, but it seems to be a lost art. As a lefty pitcher, my son (15u team) was very specific that he didn't want any other glove and had to have his current one repaired. I found A1 Glove Repair through a Google search and was skeptical at first, but reached out to Gordon. We made the drive from Wadsworth to Parma, as my son and I set a time to drop off his glove to get repaired. My son and I arrived at his place with 2 other families that were getting their son's gloves relaced. Gordon talked to all the boys about what they loved about the game, their gloves, and any improvements to their gloves they would like to see. My son decided to make his glove more pliable and chose the black angus lace to use for his entire glove (even removing the lacing that didn't need repair).
To say my son was ecstatic when he saw the finished product when we picked it up a couple weeks later would be an understatement. The confidence of having his glove customized (and very reasonably priced from dad's point of view!), allowed him to have an outstanding summer session. After that, I brought Gordon my ancient softball glove and my assistant coach's old Cooper glove for repairs. Again, Gordon did an outstanding job. My assistant coach still can't believe how well his 40 YO glove is now and talks of passing it onto his grandson!
I highly recommend A1 Glove Repair and Gordon is a great conversationalist with his younger clients learning the game of baseball!

I contacted Gordon about revitalizing my Grandfather's old baseball glove. The glove had been sitting in a garage for 30+ years and was in ROUGH shape with very dry brittle leather and some lacing that had seen better days. I knew I would need help in bringing it back to life, if only to display for sentimental reasons.
After several hours of online research, I came across A1 glove repair and read some of the testimonials and articles. It was evident that Gordon and his company were passionate about doing a quality job. After I inquired about the possibility of having the glove repaired, Gordon was quick to respond and provided a wealth of information. Also, after sending the glove off to him, I really appreciated Gordon keeping me informed on the status as well.
A few days ago, I received the glove back and was stunned at how fantastic it looked. I wasn't sure how much A1 would be able to bring it back to life, but I have to say it looks fantastic. My Dad and I both thought it turned out great, and I would definitely recommend Gordon to others.

We dropped off our daughter's glove to him. Gordon had it restrung and looking great within a week. In the disposable world we live in it was a great experience to find Gordon. He is a master craftsman with all things dealing with gloves.

I am so happy I found Gordon King! I was trying to find a suitable repair source for my son's Rawlings first baseman mitt after a couple of laces broke in less than a year of use. I searched the web and found Gordon's business listiing. He and his charming wife Joyce traveled from Parma to Strongsville at a moments notice and met me at a convenient location.
Gordon's deep knowledge and thoughtful demeanor had me trusing him with my son's glove in a few minutes. He also was able to complete the repair with an extremely quick turn-around -- 24 hours and at a reasonable price! Which, needless to say, was very appreciated as we had a game the next day.
Gordon uses real cowhide to handcraft his glove laces to create a repair that leaves the glove stronger and more durable, as well as better looking than before.
I'm so glad to have found Gordon King and his business, A1 Glove Repair and Sales! My son and I hope to be able to count on his expertise and craftsmanship for many years to come! I saw Gordon on a New Day Cleveland episode. I had an old infield mitt that I grew up with and was about 50 years old and was flat as a pancake with broken lacing and missing the Rawlings label. The mitt had a ton of sentimental value as my dad purchased it for me and hit me countless groundballs growing up. I used the mitt from little league though high school and again when I coached my kids in little league.
I contacted Gordon early this year and made arrangements to see if he could restore my glove. I dropped the glove off at his place and was pleasantly surprised at his repair estimate.
I picked the mitt up about 3 weeks later and was blown away how great the restoration came out. Gordon told me upfront I could play with this mitt when he was done. As an added bonus he found a Rawlings label and had it sewn into the glove to complete the restoration. I am extremely impressed with the work and would highly recommend Gordon and give him a perfect 10 on the job. The mitt is now proudly displayed in my office next to pictures of my idol Brooks Robinson.

Gordon to the rescue...again! My 17 year old son and I recently called on Gordon for the third time for an emergency repair of his beloved catcher's mitt. This time, Gordon relaced the entire glove while I waited, so that it would be ready for a game hours later. I can attest firsthand to the degree of care and precision with which he works. I had a string break 2 days before our season opener. I delivered the glove to Gordon and he was able to get it back in time for the game and in great shape. Glove was good as new and had new strong laces added to it. Great overall experience and string quality, highly recommend.

I played fast pitch softball in high school and college, then played co-ed softball more recently. . During the time I played, I was very particular about my gloves. It was important for me to feel confident that I could make any catch.
I found Gordon King, from A1 Glove Repair, and he has kept my gloves in immaculate shape. He replaces weak strings and tightens others, along with conditioning my gloves with his self-created formula. His knowledge and expertise with gloves is far beyond anyone I have ever seen.
I no longer play, but my 12 yr old son and 16 yr old daughter do. Gordon keeps their gloves in the same shape he did with my gloves. THERE IS NO ONE, who compares to Gordon for any kind of glove work.

I highly recommend Gordon and his team at A1 Glove Repair! My daughter loves her Mizuno Prime Fastpitch glove. Recently, the adjustable velcro wrist closure ripped. I reached out to Gordon via email, and had a response the same day. He explained a course of action to reattach the wrist closure and strengthen it (by adding a hole/fastened with lace). Gordon mapped out the repair and shipping process, as we live in SW Ohio.
He kept us informed when the glove was received, repaired, and in transit back to us.
