MLS Cheer Rules
- Uniforms are the property of Montour Little Spartans. All uniforms are to be kept neat and clean.
- Uniforms are to be returned to MLS at the end of the season exactly how they were given to you at the beginning of the season. Tacking is permitted, but any and all alterations that are done must be temporary and removed before turning your uniform in.
- Uniforms are not to be worn anywhere except to the game you are cheering.
- Please do not put uniforms in the dryer, wash and hang to dry.
- Each cheerleader is required to purchase all designated shoes (Nike Sideline IV), kick pants (black tight “leotard” bottoms) and cold weather gear for under their uniform (black fleece lined leggings and tight black “under armor style” long-sleeved turtleneck)
- You are to wear your uniform as is… top, skirt, socks, kick pants, bow and shoes. Please do not wear leggings or a shirt underneath or over unless specified by your coach.
- Hair must be worn in a high ponytail with bow facing forward or however your coach tells you.
- Make-up should be worn tastefully and naturally.
- No jewelry or accessories are to be worn at practices or games. (Earrings, piercings of any kind, bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, etc…)
- Each cheerleader is to behave properly at practices, and games.
- Each cheerleader is expected to be in formation at all times during the games.
- Each cheerleader is expected to cooperate with her teammates and coaches at all times.
- No food is permitted during practices or games. Exceptions will be made in the case of special circumstances or special occasions, this is upon the coaches approval.
- No one other than cheerleaders and coaches are permitted to be on the track or in the designated cheer area during a game. If a coach needs a cheerleaders parent the coach will ask for them to come to the area.
- No cell phones are to be used during practices or games unless approved by coach.
- Attendance is very important… if your child is not at the last practice prior to game day she will not participate in the stunt portion of that weeks halftime show. Stunting is very well thought out, planned and practiced, any last minute changes can create problems. This rule is for the safety of all of the squads. If you are unable to attend a practice or a game please let your coach know as soon as possible.
- If there is FOOTBALL there is CHEER… the only weather condition we do not cheer in is lightning. Rain gear or warmups will be worn if necessary and you will be notified by your coach as to what to wear. No umbrellas.
