A 2006 graduate and All-State selection of West Lincoln High School, Chris Henderson went on to Lenior-Rhyne and became a four-year starter for head coach Frank Pait and eventually finished under new coach Paul Knight. As a freshman: Chris immediately made an impact as he battled Justin Crawley, whom he defeated in the third round of the playoff from North Stanley, for the #1 spot in the weekend rotation. After such a promising freshman season, Crawley left and many others didn't make the grades, leaving Chris the bulk of the innings as a sophomore: As a junior: Chris again tried to shoulder the load for a young and inexperienced pitching staff as he led the team with 12 starts, 16 appearances, and 82.2 innings pitched (21 more than anyone else). Chris finished the season with 5 wins and an era of 5.44. He also had 85 strikeouts (to lead the team) in those 82 inning and only 43 walks. As a senior: Chris once again had to bear the bear the bulk of the load on the mound as he totaled a disappointing 5 wins and 4 losses in 83.2 innings. Chris added 88 strikeouts (again leading the team) with only 36 walks in those 83 innings, as he held opponents to a .275 average. Chris finished his career at Lenior Rhyne as the career leader in strikeouts.
