Coach's Corner

06-26-19 On the road

One of the hardest things to do at this level of ball is to minimize the distractions.  Playing Semi Pro football requires you to make practices, work a fulltime job, still be engaged with your family and lets not forget the sacrifices on weekends to play games.  The Panthers will be tested this week with a different challenge. Traveling 3 1/2 hours to take on the Newton Nite Hawks.  The team we will face is loaded with confidence and are sitting with a record of 5 - 1.  We are coming off an impressive win beating the Midwest Chaos to stay in the race to get to the 2019 championship.  With the summer heat just really starting to get going, a continued push to condition our players so they may be able to endure the nasty heat.  It is a long season and every team you face is looking for the weak spot in your armour.  Now we are starting to see some of our players finally starting to accept their roles on this team.  Will it be enough this weekend?  We will see.

04-20-19 Rest

Happy Easter weekend family.  The Panthers football organization has always stressed the importance of GOD, Family then football.  Since it's Easter weekend I have decided to give the guys today off from practice.  They have been working so hard for the last few weeks.  Even though there is still so much work that needs to be done.   Currently the Panthers coaching staff is evaluating its current roster situation to determine if there needs to be some movement of positions.  The season kicksoffs on May 11th, with the Panthers traveling to Council Bluffs Iowa to take on the Spartans. and then the Panthers return home to face the Outlaws of Nebraska.  I need all the Coaches and players to enjoy this weekend off cause when we return to  practice tuesday, It's all business.

03-27-19  Back in action

This year will bring some new faces to the Panthers squad.  I have made some changes to the Coaching staff.  Coach James Head is now assisting with the Offensive and Defensive linemen, Chris Grissom the graduate from Avila University is the new senconday and linebackers Coach, Thomas Alexander army veteran is the new receivers and Tight End Caoch.  With the new additions, this brings us to a 7 man coaching squad.  Every position can get the attention it desreves.  I believe this will make us a better team.

Now that the weather has started to take a turn for the better, the team has been able to practice outdoors.  We had to make the move a few weeks ago to start camp in the YMCA in order to start getting a look at returning vets and new recruits.  Big shout out to the YMCA for working with us and giving us access to the weight room and the gym.  I believe we are making huge strives in preparing the players for this coming season.  Check back soon for we will be featuring complete bios of the new players and coaches.

12-10-16 Tryouts Coming

The Kansas City Panthers will be hosting tryouts on February 18, 2017.  This will be an evaluation of prospective new players looking to join the team for the upcoming season.  After coming off a Championship year, my coaching staff and I are looking forward to seeing the new recruits show off their stuff.  We will be looking for athletes first.  The Panthers coaches will be looking for individuals that can help the team reload for another run for the Crown.  I have implimented one of the most aggressive campaigns of recruiting.

My biggest advice for anyone looking to play for the 2017 team is to get out and run.  Lift heavy, study your position and start training your mind to think like a winner!  I can say that joining this organization will change your life.

08-28-15

We have finally finished regular season.  Now it's time to prepare for the playoffs.  To finish the season with a 10-2 record is a huge accomplishment.  By doing so we have worked hard to become the number one seed in our conference and division winners with home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Our work is far from over.

04-19-15 Full Practice

After a few weeks now.  The Panthers staff is ready to assign positions to most players.  There has been quite a few changes to the Offense and Defense this year so far.  many of the ball players were moved to different positions just to find out what there limitations are.   I have all ways believed in heavy conditioning.

So, fundamentals and speed training will still be part of the Panthers practices for the remainder of the season.  The next two weeks will test the new players as they will recieve a great amount of plays and formations to learn.  This is why attendance is so important. There are still some roster positions that I still want to fill in the coming two weeks.

02-16-15 Orientation

Preparing for the 2015 players orientation.  It will take place on Saturday March 21st at 1:00pm.  The agenda is being finalized and there is much to discuss.  Here is a list of things the coaches will be addressing; Contracts, a detail break down on sponsorship packages, Team/League rules and code of conduct, practice location and times, 2015 schedule and team dues.

This is one of the most detailed orientations that we have had in years.  I believe the game is won well before we ever take the field.  It woud be in the players best interest to make this important meeting.  Camp will start the following week on Saturday March 28th.

01-24-15 Lets Begin

The 2014 football season is behind us and its time to get going on recruiting and league meetings.  Several prospective ball players have started to submit player applications.  The biggest piece of advice I have for players that are wanting to play for this team is RUN and WORKOUT as much as possible.

Run everyday and workout with a purpose.  Nothing is more annoying for a coach than to see so call players commited to the sport showing up to camp out of shape.  IF YOU DONT KNOW, you need to be eating about every three hours a day with quality food and suplements.  GOD has given you the body to play football so, take care of it and it will take care of you.

Prepare yourself for community service.  Each an everyone will be required to donate a set number of hours to community service.  This is more than a football team.  We are a part of this great city and we need to do our part to help those in need to the best of our ability.  We can not do everything but we must do something.
