Ryan Hubbart

VARSITY T1/CHSAA VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Ryan Hubbart has enjoyed the game of hockey for over 35 years. As a Colorado native, he has witnessed the explosive growth of the sport in Colorado since he first stepped onto to the ice in 1986 as a Hyland Hills Flyer mini-mite. From those early years through High School he spent his summers in Minnesota, Michigan, and New England participating in hockey development programs instructed by former professional hockey players and collegiate coaches.  As a member of both his club teams and Team Colorado he had the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada playing in many of the most competitive tournaments in North America. After all these years of competition he still claims one of his fondest memories is participating in the annual Fargo, North Dakota Squirt tournament where his Colorado team shocked everyone by defeating International Falls in the championship game. It was during those years he came to respect the foundation on which hockey is built: commitment and team unity.  Ryan is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and has continued to play and coach hockey as the sport has grown in Colorado.  Ryan enjoys passing on his knowledge of the game, as well as the sportsmanship and valuable life lessons which evolve from playing hockey. He is proud to be a Sabercat!
