David Wise

A 2000 graduate of West Lincoln High School, David Wise went on to play college ball for the Limestone Saints.  As a freshman, David saw action in 35 games behind the plate and finished that season with 19 hits, including 8 2B's.  As a sophomore, David became more than just a weapon behind the plate as his offense abilities matched his stellar defensive abilities.  He finished with 43 hits, including 9 2B's, 7 HR's, and 23 RBI, all while hitting a respectable .287.  Then in 2005 as a junior, David again set career highs in most offensive categories, as he helped lead the Saints to a regular season CVAC Conference Championship.  He finished that year with 59 hits, 15 2B's, 5 HR's, 44 RBI and managed to throw out 19 of 39 would be base stealers.   Entering his senior year, David was selected as one of the captains for the 2006 season.  David did not disappoint as he increased his hit total to 65, including 14 doubles, 1 triple, and a team high 13 homeruns.  "Gravy" also led the Saints in RBI's with 51, runs scored with 42, and slugging percentage of .642 on the season.  For his efforts, David was named to the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-Conference First Team and was later selected to the 2006 ABCA/Rawlings All-South Atlantic Region Team.  David is currently the Varsity Baseball Coach at Burns High School in Lawndale NC.
