Long Drive-A-Thon

Who has the longest drive?  Who can put it closest to the pin?  Who can raise the most money for the program?  We’ll find out Wednesday, May 2nd during the 7th annual long drive-a-thon fundraiser for the Boys Varsity Golf Program.

After the contest, you will need to collect the money from all of the people that donated to your longest drive.

The manner in which this event will work is as follows:

Golfers will get sponsors to pledge a specific amount of money per yard.  They will go to a driving range and hit five balls with their driver.  The longest drive is the one that counts.  Golfers will then total the yardage and collect the money from their sponsors.  Example: Kevin Brugger really smacks one and his drive ends up going 150 yards.  A sponsor agreed to pledge 5 cents per yard.  150 x $.05 = $7.50.  Kevin would collect $7.50 from that sponsor.  If a sponsor would like to write a check, checks can be made out to The Olympia Golf Program, though cash is preferred.
