2009 Captains CC Poem

It's been four years since I started this sport
When I started as a freshman I was a little short
I didn't even know what Cross Country was
A guy named Patrick Cooley gave me the buzz
He said "Cross Country is the sport that crazy people do"
If you think you are crazy you can do it too
When I began training, I started second guessing
Then Coach Huber told me I was a blessing
At my first race I was really nervous
The gun shot off and my body went blervous
As it turns out freshman year was flipping awesome
That was the year that everybody blossomed
As I grew up running became my life
The only thing I can think of to rhyme is knife
Now I finished my senior season, my life feels over
I was lucky to have such a great 4 years,
it was like finding a clover
I would like to thank my coaches, my fans and my teammates
without them my experience would have been 1/2 as great
Now running as a tiger is officially done
I just want to say Blue Valley Cross Country is # 1
