Jimmy Peters Jr. -

In 1978, Jimmy Peters Jr. took over the head coaching job of the NAU program. The left winger played in 309 NHL games. His NHL career started with the Detroit Red Wings in 1964. He also spent time with the Los Angeles Kings, before retiring in 1976 after playing for Fort Worth Texans in the CHL. His professional career included many seasons in other professional hockey leagues.

Greg Adams -

Greg Adams led the NCAA in scoring during the 1983-1984 season with 73 points (44g, 29a). During his two years at NAU he scored 108 points (58g, 50a), before signing a professional contract with the New Jersey Devils. Adams played in over 1,000 games in his 17 year NHL career before retiring from hockey in 2002, after a season in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) with the Frankfurt Loins. After his three seasons with the Devils, he played with Vancouver, Dallas, Phoenix, and Florida. He tallied 355 goals, 388 assists for a total of 743 points in his NHL career. The greatest moment of his career had to be in the 1994 Western Conference Final when he was on the Vancouver Canucks. In Game 5, Adams scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Toronto Maple Leafs to send the team to their second-ever Stanley Cup Final berth. To add to his dramatic fashion goals, he would score the Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final OT winner against the Rangers. Adams was also selected to the 1988 All-Star game. He is known as one of the greatest athletes in NAU history and was inducted into the NAU Hall of Fame in 1990.

Bobby Beers -

A Defenseman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but raised in Buffalo played one season for Northern Arizona University. In 28 games he put up 24 points (2g, 22a) and 58 PIM. After his freshman year with the Lumberjacks he transfered to the University of Maine. He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 10th round (#210 overall) in the 1985 Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 1989-1990 season. His professional career was split between the NHL, AHL, and IHL. He played in 258 NHL games, recording 107 points (28g, 79a) and 225 PIM. He also played in 21 playoff games and had a goal and assist. He mainly played his NHL career with the Boston, but also was on the Tampa Bay Lightning for two seasons. He was selected to serve in the 1993, 1994, and 1997 World Championships for the United States. He now serves as the radio commentator for the Boston Bruins.

Glen Engevik -

He is a Right Winger from Vancouver, BC, only played one season for the Lumberjacks in 1985-1986. In that season he was 1st in goals with 23 and added 12 helpers to go with that for a total of 35 points, which was second to Jay Macijewski. After NAU he transfered to the University of Denver and played 3 seasaons for them. He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 1986 NHL Supplemental Draft. His professional career began in 1989 in the ECHL for the Nashvillie Knights. He played three seasons for them: 1989-1990, 1990-1991, and 1991-92. He also played 2 games for the Newmarket Saints of the AHL and then 34 games in CoHL for Flint Bulldogs.

Brent Mowery -

Brent played center for Northern Arizona University for one season in 1985-1986. The forward from Nelson, BC scored 9 goals and 23 assists that year in 28 games. Besides playing for NAU in his hockey career he also played for Summerland Buckaroos and Kelowna Packers in the BCJHL. He also attended and played for United States International University and Colorado College. Brent Mowery was selected in the 7th round 144 overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

Tony Fairfield -

Tony Fairfield, who is from St. Albert, Alberta, played one season for Northern Arizona University in 1985-1986. In 26 games he had 4 goals, 2 assists and 71 penalty minutes. Tony was drafted in the 8th round 167 overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

Doug Allan -

Doug Allan was a goalie and coach for North Arizona University. He was the assistant coach to John Mason for two years, 1984-1985 and 1985-1986. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 12th round 194 overall in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. He was also selected in the 12th round #199 overall by the Cleveland Crusaders in the 1974 WHA Amateur Draft.
