PRESIDENTS PAGE
A Message from Candy Crider, President of
LITTLE MISS KICKBALL INTERNATIONAL, INC.

As my first year as, Corporate President comes to a close, I wanted to reflect and share my feelings regarding this past season. I was and still am very honored to be your president. When I was first registered for kickball over 40 years ago at the age of 8 (because we didn’t have rookies), I can honestly say I never dreamed I would be where I am today.

I am sure that the people that do know well can confirm this but for the people that don’t kickball is truly my love. I am lucky to get to share my passion and enthusiasm for this amazing sport and organization with many others. As soon as the season is over, I am counting down the days that I get to be with my kickball family again.

This year has been filled with incredible amount of highs and a few lows. When I talked about family at the state tournament, I truly meant it. Kickball is family and family is EVERYTHING! Just like any other family, we may not agree on every decision; but at the end of every game, tournament or season we are still family.

The overwhelming support I have received this past year leaves me speechless. I am in complete awe. Complete strangers would come up to me throughout the year and say what a great organization kickball is and how happy they are because they registered their daughter to play. And then they fell in love with the sport and continue to come back year after year. At a time, when there are so many options for girls to play sports; we are very fortunate that so many return each year to kickball. Then to hear that some of their best memories as kids, were when they played on the red dirt is simply amazing. Kickball has become a part of their lives. Unless you have been a part of kickball; you truly will never understand the love and passion that so many have for it.

I want to thank the corporation board, committee members, league board members, volunteers, parents and players for giving your time, energy and support to Little Miss Kickball. Without each of you, kickball would not be where it is today.

I wanted to also send a very special thank you to District VI, Brownsville North, The City of Brownsville and all the countless volunteers for hosting an amazing 2019 State Tournament. And what a tournament it was. We witnessed game after game where it would come down to the last out to determine the winner. We witnessed first time champions and leagues accomplishing more than they had in any prior year. We also witnessed an INCREDIBLE number of homeruns. I can honestly say I have never had my picture taken so much!! As was previously stated “Girl power was on full display”.

Now as are on to the 2020 playing season, and what a great one it will be as we celebrate 50 years of Little Miss Kickball. Can’t wait to see everybody back at the fields.

Love to all, Your President Candy Crider
