Paul Finger

A 2006 graduate and All-State selection of West Lincoln High School, Paul Finger went on to Tuculum College in eastern Tennessee and became a four-year starter for head coach Doug Jones.  As a freshman:  Paul was inserted immediately in the line-up and played in 62 of the teams 64 games.  He hit .328 as he accumulated 68 hits with 12 doubles and 1 homerun, giving him a total of 83 total bases.  Paul also scored 32 runs and drove in another 37 to go along with his 6 stolen bases.  As a sophomore:  Paul looked to improve on his successful freshman season and help lead the Pioneers to another Regional appearance.  Unfortunately he struggled offensively as he was hurt early and tried to come back to soon and only ended up playing in 36 of the teams 56 games.  Paul did have an impact as he was inserted into the lineup late and managed to make the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team for his play in the Conference Tournament.  As a junior:  Paul again became a mainstay in the Pioneer lineup playing in 44 of the teams 54 games.  Paul set new personal best with 3 triple and 5 homeruns and a slugging percentage of .497 to go along with 8 double and a .297 average.  He added 16 runs while driving in another 25.  Although not the year he had as a freshman, Paul helped lead the Pioneers to a third straight Regional appearance in Tampa, Florida.  As a senior:   Paul hit .309 with 55 hits including 5 doubles and 4 homeruns.  Paul also contributed 32  RBI as well as having 32 runs scored.  Paul played a total of 190 games and finished his Pioneer career with 183 hits and a .292 average.  He had 26 doubles, 3 triples and 10 homeruns giving him a career total of 245 total bases.  Most impressive was the fact that Paul is one of only three playera in Tusculum history to be named to the All-Tournament team for 4 consecutive seasons.
