A Note From Coach Sanford
Hello Cross Country Runners & Parents,

Cross Country season is upon us. We are looking forward to another exciting season. I am very glad you are interested in coming out for our cross country teams. I have attached our cross country philosophy, and many other documents and forms below this note.
AISD physical form packets and information that are required by the Austin ISD athletic department can be accessed by logging on to the following link at https://www.austinisd.org/athletics/forms.
All runners will be required to be in the 0-Hour cross country class. Students will need to sign up with the counselors. Ninth and tenth grade students will receive a numerical grade P.E. credit for cross country. Seniors and juniors have the option of taking the class with a pass/fail grade or a numerical grade. Please be sure that the counselors schedule you in the 0-Hour Cross Country class.
Be sure that you are not signed up for a P.E. class and the cross country class during the same semester or two different athletic classes during the same semester. This is against UIL rules.
My expectations for our athletes is to work hard, compete, improve and enjoy running. Please email Coach Sanford at richard.sanford@austinisd.org or Rsan59@aol.com for more information or questions. You may text/call me. [Coach Sanford's mobile # is located in the 2021-2022 Trojan Cross Country Information attachment located in FORMS navigational link at the top of the webpage].
In addition, please help get out the word by directing any prospective cross country runner to this webpage or forward my contact information to them from any one of my emails.
Thank you,
Richard W. Sanford
